This wild rice is hand parched from the inland lakes of Canada. Hand parched by the Ojibwa Indians using a traditional method they have used for years. “Real” Wild Rice grows wild in clear lakes and is not genetically modified and altered like other grains available in the US. It grows on non-depleted soils at the bottom of pristine lakes and is planted by Mother Nature. This rice is a lighter colored rice than the Canadian Jumbo. Most Native Americans and many others prefer this wild rice. It is a good choice for an “on the go” life style. Very easy to prepare and fast. This rice is delicious! I bought this a few years ago and it brought back delicious memories of growing up in Minnesota. Mom's family is Blackfoot/Chippewa with Osage for extra measure, so having this for breakfast, lunch or supper was always a welcome meal. Great product, great company and arrives on time. Great to have in the pantry to cook ahead and always have it ready in the fridge. Love it best for breakfast. Won't wait so long to reorder this time. Keeps longer in the freezer if you have a food saver machine.

pricey but fine
I love wild rice but always considered it a luxury. This time I said the heck with prudence and indulged myself and am I glad I did. This is a good product was delivered on time and is easy to prepare. So treat yourself, sometimes you just have to have what you want.
