Great way to learn about paper and coin money. The story finds a way to discuss each US coin, adding them all up. It even weaves in thoughtful lessons about making sure you do not misplace your money and how sharing with others can be rewarding. Unlike other younger books this is a complete story that takes a few minutes to read so it is good for older toddlers who are willing to sit through the whole thing. The back of the book includes a paper piggy bank that folds into a small box that can hold a few coins.

My kids both love Curious George! When I got my 2-year-old daughter her first piggy bank as a holiday present, I also wanted to get her a book that included good messages about saving money. I'm happy to report that this book as become part of our regular reading rotation and has piqued my daughter's interest in putting money in her piggy bank. I know the concept of saving her money to buy something will come later, but her big sister gets it and also loves the book!

Great book! So many great lessons learned from this story! The value of money and responsibility are such valuable lessons to be learned. I highly recommend this book to anyone with young children! I’ve read several “Curious George” books, but I found this one to exceptionally good.

My little ones love George and this one is high up in the rotation. It shows George saving money by doing chores, and almost losing it all when he is careless. It also shows him rewarding a little girl who saves his money for him when he lost it. Lots of good lessons, plus it's GEORGE. Only drawback: I found the three year old climbing his dresser to try to get to his "piggabank" so he could shake it. Time for a shatterproof piggy bank.

Book was damaged and torn, and I was supposed to be a birthday gift but couldn’t gift it

This is a very cute book. George wants to buy a toy train, and he finds ways to earn and save the money to get what he wants. And in the end, he splits his savings to buy a gift as a reward to a friend who helped him out. It promotes working hard, saving, and generosity - with some money counting skills thrown in. VERY GOOD BOOK.

There is a simple bank for kids to make at the end of the book, but I bought it to help my granddaughter understand about saving and using her rubber piggy bank I bought at the same time. We will wait till she is older to make the bank as it is a little fragile in the hands of a three year old. Simple story with one of her favorite characters keeps her attention as it teaches the importance of saving.
