Works great if you don't let tool blades get too far gone. But my poor lawn mower blade will need some grinding and filing before this can be used to keep it sharpened.

I have tried a round "rat tail" file for sharpening my chainsaw blades and never had much success. Maybe I wasn't doing it right. I have also bought dremel sharpening bits and tried to free-hand it with limited success. I began to think of saw blades as disposable... dig into the dirt, hit a rock, saw some oak?... just toss the blade and get a new one. I have only used this kit one time and it sharpened my blade quickly, easily, and PERFECTLY! It pretty much paid for itself after one use. Shop around on here... I found this kit with more features and items for less money. I have not yet used the shear/blade sharpening attachment.

Bought for chainsaw sharpening. After I used it I found that I didn't need a guide because you can just follow the existing angle of the tooth. The stone bits work better than the brass bits you can but they don't last long before they are ground down smaller than required diameter

Purchased this to sharpen my chain saw. After a few youtube tutorials this product was remarkable easy to use and effectively sharped the chain saw quickly. Should have purchased this product sooner.

Bought this to sharpen my Stihl 170 chainsaw. Once attached to my Sears rotary power tool (AKA Dremel) it does a good job. Makes it super easy to sharpen a chainsaw. Find out what size grinding wheel your saw chain takes prior to ordering and order some spares at the same time. This kit only comes with one of each size. Stihl 170 size is 5/32 Low Profile.

Domestic easy solution to simple sharpening tasks. Worth every penny (half price on Black Friday deals) but would pay full price. The guide for the mower blade is ok but the chainsaw guide does make it easier (domestic) and so does the shear / secy guide. Not as good as stones and doing it by hand but far far easier !! Worth buying
