Q: Why the huge price increase? I bought this back in April, 2015 for $35. and now the price is $59.99. Price is too high.

$59.99? $35? April 2020 the price is $55? Both of those are ridiculous. I paid $11.95 for this same product in Dec. 2018. I can buy similar quality ghee for the same price now. You'd be a fool to pay this much for clarified butter.

From their supplier website, “The cows spend time out on pasture year round grazing whenever the weather permits. They graze on the rich, sweet grasses that are typical for Marin and Sonoma Counties. In the North Bay Coast region of California, with long wet and dry seasons, the cows eat a diet of 50 – 80% forages, which include fresh grasses, silage, and hay, depending on the time of year and pasture growth. The other 20 – 50% consists of a variety of certified organic, Non-GMO Project Verified grains such as barley, flax meal, soy, and corn. All purchased feeds are certified organic and are tested to verify that they are non-GMO.”

Q: What is the shelf life of this ghee and what is the recommended way to store it after it is opened?

Ghee is an ancient and traditional food item in India and it has a large array of uses. Specially in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Do you think that people from the remote or more traditional villages and communities refrigerate their ghee? Keeping it clean, away from contaminants by keeping it properly stored will literally last for years. It is said that traditional ghee the older it is the better are its medicinal qualities. Try to keep it away from direct sunlight, keep it cover to maintain its purity and you will be free of worries and anxieties. I’ve been using unrefrigerated ghee for many, many years and I have never experienced any issues. I love that this ghee is made the traditional Vedic way. It should be the only way to consume it!
