Waking Up Is Hard to Do Hardcover – Picture Book, September 1, 2010

The book is good but the disc doesn't work.

I bought this to read (actually, I sang it) to my pre-school class. Since I know the tune, it was very easy to sing it to them. AND THEY LISTENED, when I sing books. If I know the tune I NEVER read a book based on a song. And I always have known the tune for the song in the book.

I gave this book to our daughter who is almost 30 as a gag gift because she loves to sleep in. Our two grandchildren, ages 2 and 3, love the book and have taken it over. They ask for the book and listen to the song repeatedly while singing to it. A GREAT buy! Highly recommend this one!!

As a teenager in the 60's, I was rockin & rollin with Neil Sedaka. I ordered the book & CD the same day I heard Neil on the radio promoting the book. I actually "sang" this book along with the CD to my 3 year old granddaughter. When we got to the end, she said "more Nana". By the 4th "reading" she was also singing the words. It was glorious sharing my old music with new words with my grandchild. The artwork is lively and colorful. When we were finished singing, we went through each page slowly and talked about each animal in the story and what they were doing. It was wonderful! Thank you Neil!!

I gave this as a gift last weekend - My niece and nephew (ages 3 and 5) loved this book! They sat surprised and amused when their mom, aunt,and grandmother danced and sang to the title's song on the CD. They will soon love Neil's music as much as we do!Update: They have memorized this music and love singing it - their grandmother says they give impromptu 'concerts' even when away from the house/book. Awesome book!

Children ALWAYS say "do it again"!! A perfect gift book. The CD is great, and the kids love it in the car! The story guides young one to get up and get ready for the day...brushing teeth etc. Neil Sedaka"s song original" Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" is a tune from the past and grabs a Grammie's heart, bringing past and present together for Grand children who sing and clap along!!! LOVE this!

I bought this product for my daughter. She is a teacher in Brooklyn NY and is always on the look out for see and hear books. I have not heard from her yet about the childrens reactions to this book and CD. I found the book thru NPR and have wonderful experiences with all the products that I purchase thru NPR referral. I was very pleased with the quality of the book and CD Waking Up is Hard to Do and one of my favorite songs as a teenager was Breaking Up is Hard to Do so I'm happy to introduce this version to my granddaughter.

There are some great illustrations in this book, and a song which is fun to listen to and dance to, but it is not in the correct register for children's voices, so they find it hard to sing along, in tune.

Beautiful, bright, colourful and fun.Perfect for young children. The cd is a treat for Sedaka fans and children alike. You'd be hard pressed to get better value for a youngster. Gorgeous product.
