A Guinea Pig Nativity (Guinea Pig Classics) Hardcover – October 22, 2013

I got this to complete my niece's collection of Guinea Pig Classics. The only one available was used. It is in very good condition except for a little warping in the pages which I have almost successfully pressed out by putting weight on it. I'm sure she will love I. Even though it's told using guinea pigs in costume, it stays pretty true to the story of our Lord's nativity.

Like all these books I have received, this book doesn't disappoint. Our entire family had a lot of fun looking at the cast and reading the story. One small thing was the book was backyards. It must be read from back to front. Grandpa noted that made this book unique just like our two guinea pigs. So, we will be keeping it! And it will get a 5-star rating.

I’ve gotten my mom (she lovessss Guinea pigs) one of these for Christmas every year and now she has the whole collection. They’re so cute and really well done! I wish they would make more!

Well. for starters, this thing is cute as crap. We have guinea pigs, and I want to dress them up so bad now! If you just look at the pictures, it's pretty great and laugh worthy!My complaint is that the book itself is fairly long. Yes, I know, it's the story of Jesus, and worth every moment of the day that we can devote to it, etc etc. But real talk: I got this for my 5 and 7 year old, and my 7 year old can't hang in there to read it. The pictures are so fun and silly and delightful, and the words are so very serious. It seems like it was a real let down for them-- they were expecting (and so was I) a fun rendition of a story, and it isn't silly or fun. I can't decide if it's sacrilegious or not to be disappointed in the story of Jesus' birth.I think this would be a much better coffee table book or bathroom book during the holidays than a read-before-bed book.I'm not sure if I would buy it again, but I am REALLY happy I bought it the first time?

Christmas present fire a girl at work. She loved it

This book absolutely tugged my heartstrings! We are a piggy lovin' family and I could not resist this book! The story is accurate with the Bible and the photos are very well laid out. Every year we spend Christmas at my parents house (I'm 30 years old with a family of my own) and my mother asked if we would read the story of Jesus' birth. I laughed and said, how about I read it in guinea pig form!! It was well received among everyone and the true meaning of Christmas was still the focus! I hope everyone can appreciate this book, pig lover or not! =D

Cute book, nice size, sweet story and cute presentation of the cast. My granddaughter loves it!

Love this little publication - but unless you adore guinea pigs (who wouldn't...) you may find it strange and not 'get it.'The guinea pig costumes have a touchingly amateur feel, and Baby Jesus is decidedly odd, although I sympathise with trying to get a GP baby still for a photo. You'd have to nail his little trotters to the floor, which would be unkind.It's also odd that the text is straight from the Bible, no allowances for children. All in all, this is a book for crazy GP fans, adult or child.

I bought this book for my sister-in-law and her young child, as they have guinea pigs and we share a love for them! I figured this would make a cute "fun" gift for Christmas, and I wasn't wrong! It is a small book but the pictures are great and the way it is all put together is so lovely and cute and funny. I will likely buy the rest in the series too! Really happy with this find

Another great book from Bloomsbury Publishing.The book is not big and only has about 50 pages, But it is a superb book, even if you are not religious.the photo's are really good and both adults and children will love them, the story is a simply one, the book is magnificent.it would make a great secret santa present.Look also at the Guinea Pig Nativity book which is equally good. .

Cute for my guinea pig girl. It is the proper story too which is nice. Illustrated with dressed up guinea pigs. I wondered if I might think it was inappropriate and disrespectful of the true nativity story but it’s actually lovely in my opinion.

Who couldn't love this book? Its adorable. Normally, I don't approve of dressing animals up, but when I saw this book I just had to have it. I'm guinea pig crazy anyway but it would definitely appeal to any youngster or animal fan. Lovely pictures and story is set out well. And a nice touch at the back of the book is a note of support for rescue centres.
