Sears Kenmore Humidifier Belt 758.72074 Fits all 70000 Series

just what I wanted and needed

This product is NOT "By Sears" nor a "Sears Kenmore ... Belt".It is a generic belt, with packaging labeled only for Moistaire brand humidifiers, and made by Essick Air Products.It does physically fit the Kenmore models.Seems to be a softer and denser weave.Does work OK although maybe at lower moisturizing rate.Hard to get started initially. Need to fully moisten it and tug it by hand.Then it is OK after using for a while.

I ordered two of these belts. The first one came apart at the seam 10 minutes into use. I resolved this by taking my old crusty belt that would no longer pass air flow and rejuvenating it. I went to Dollar Tree store and bought a quart bottle of their "Lime Away" product ($1). I place my folded belt in a one gallon zip lock back and added 1/2 the bottle of lime away ($.50). I soaked it for a few days rotating the bag for even soaking. Then I washed and rinsed it in the kitchen sink with some dish soap. 80% like new!! I love my 30 year old humidifier and wish Sears was still making the belts.

THIS ITEM IS AT LEAST 30 YEARS OLD AND HAS RUN GREAT EVERY YEAR. THE ONLY THING WE HAVE REPLACED ON IT IS THE HUMIDIFER BELT. THIS IS THE THIRD ONE SO FAR . THE ONLY OTHER BELT THAT SHOULD BE REPLACED IS A SMALL DRIVE BELT FOR THE HUMIDIFER BELT, BUT CAN'T FIND ONE. IT'S TO BAD BECAUSE THIS ITEM IS GREAT.
