Berserk Deluxe Volume 1

Let me preface this review by stating that I'm not a very big anime/manga fan; I'm actually quite picky when it comes to the two mediums.But, as an avid Soulsborne fan, I was no stranger to Berserk and what the series has done to inspire the games that I hold dear, so I knew it was only a matter of time before I inevitably dipped my toes into the dark world of Berserk to see if it, too, would be something I enjoy. Once I learned of the deluxe edition and after reading the reviews (as well as praise from friends and coworkers alike), I knew it would be a great place to start. After all, the books look tantalizing enough.The highest praise I can give it is, only a few days later after receiving the book, I have the next four volumes on order.It's a dark, gritty world that's unforgiving and bleak, but also addicting; I can't believe I've been putting it off all these years. So far the story has been great and I find myself wanting to drop everything and just read the entire series in one go. And these deluxe versions are absolutely worth it: thick, heavy and satisfying to hold, I can't think of any word other than "sexy" to describe these books. Large art, a ribbon bookmark, all bound in a faux leather hardcover that looks and feels sturdy and great in your hands.Whether a newcomer or longtime fan, I don't think you could possibly go wrong in buying these for your collection- you won't be disappointed!

Very good quality material. The "story" might be a little "strong" but the images are very nice.

A true Masterpiece

I love the art style, writing, characters and feel of the book would recommend.

i watched all the shows and was like ok I'll try the book, the book goes far more in depth than the adaptations. a great story.as for the quality of the book itself it is really big letting you see the drawing better than the smaller counterparts. they look really nice on the shelf and i like the texturing of the book. also, it is also vary sturdy which is important with a book this big so you can hold it easy. i will for sure be getting the next one.

well packaged in plastic

I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She love and enjoyed reading it, according to her. The product is well made. She's looking forward to add more. Highly recommended!
