Perfect and does the job.

Nice, quick delivery. No wasted packaging. The cable is really sturdy and I like the split ring system. Yes it’s a little tricky to part the ring as it’s very strong (use a strong flat blade screwdriver) but once installed, you know that breakaway cable is going nowhere unless you get back under and disconnect it on purpose. On the flip side, the old cable I removed which had the standard hook connection just slipped out at the right angle. For piece of mind, the split ring is king. This cable was also thicker then the cable it replaced, and had a quality carabiner instead of a spring clip. Fluro yellow is a nice touch. Remember breakaway cable first to be connected, last to be disconnected on couple/uncouple.

Good quality product. I have tried a couple of 'fixes' to make attaching the breakaway cable to our car easier but nothing has worked as well as this option. After attaching to our trailer tent brake lever with the supplied split ring (careful how you do this as it would be easy to slip and possibly injure yourself), I used a medium sized screwdriver to prise open the ring in order to get it to start on the brake handle attachment, it is easy to clip onto our rather inaccessible Witter tow ball attachment point without having to resort to crawling under the car. This is a bit of a game changer to be honest as it was by far, the most tricky part of connecting and disconnecting our trailer and was of a concern when on the road as you never know when a quick detachment may be required.

Time will tell

This is the second one of these that I have purchased and it’s the kind of thing you hope never to put to the test. Well, our camping trailer fell of the hitch on the road and this saved the day. The yellow one is the original and as the incident caused a little bit of damage to it I opted for a replacement because while it looks like it’s still up to the job, it doesn’t make sense to scrimp on safety. This did a fantastic job, is a great price and is a must for peace of mind. Thanks

Purchased as a replacement cable that broke when driver forgot to disconnect it. Found this one from BITS4REASONS as offered next day delivery (arrived as stated) and looked robust. Certainly that when unpackaged; good, solid fixings, fitted well. Can’t comment on how it will work in a trailer detachment (hopefully will never need to find out) but I feel reassured given build quality.

I have not had the misfortune to have to rely on this cable but from my experience ones like this are a necessity in case of the unthinkable. IT is in my opinion a strong and well made breakaway cable and unlike some the thought of a ring for trailer attachment and inside ring on the Carabiner to save the cable rubbing are the reason to buy from this company. If the cable fails it will probably be my faulty not checking the connection points and not the cable, I hope .
