RNtertainment: The NCLEX® Examination Review Game

After reading the reviews, I bought this game on a whim. There just becomes a point where you can't do anymore Kaplan or ATI questions and you have to mix it up. The game is fun and certainly provides an entertaining way to study for State Boards. Find some of your classmates, get together, ante up a quarter or buck apiece and play against each other. I had a great time playing it, and as a supplemental resource to Kaplan/ATI, I think it was really helpful. I agree with the others with a 3 turn limit with moving the piece one space up only if you get there last question right. Nevertheless, I aced my NCLEX and am now an RN!

I bought this game to study for the NCLEX-PN in 2024 and I passed on the first try, with the test shutting down at the minimum number of questions! I took this game into play with my classmates as well on a day when we all had to bring or create a game, and it was very well received and my instructor thought the questions were well written and applicable for both RN and PN level. We all enjoyed the game and got good study time out of it. I did find a duplicate card or two, but overall, it is well worth the money in my opinion.

It’s a good study tool. There are a few questions I thought were poorly worded and I discarded them. But I’d say 96% of the questions are solid quality, and there’s A LOT of them, so you get your money’s worth I guess. I played with some non-nursing people and they could barely read half the cards 😆 in their defense, medical terminology is tricky though. So yeah it’s not much of a drinking game, all the cards are pretty wordy. I felt like drinking while reading the game cards made me tired and sad. Alcohol is a depressant anyway. Maybe the new edition of NCLEX will be wordy with how they write their questions? But the 2021 version of questions were pretty bare bones/vaguely written/short, sweet, to the point. That was my experience anyway.

I loved the concept of this and had great intentions to play with classmates however, life kept us from doing that!

Bought this game after a friend in nursing school said its tradition in her family that if u play the game as much as possible you will pass the state boards on the first try. I bought the game and play with my kids and play it at school with other soon to be nurses. Yes there are lost of questions we have never even heard of in school but thats the point! Will update after I take my boards to see if tradition holds up!

I thought this would be great for reviewing by myself, I just wanted to take the cards to work and quiz myself at work... but the cards have the answer bolded, so you can't read your options without seeing the answer. Not what I expected. A great game if you have nursing friends to play/study with though.

I took the NCLEX Jan 2017 after graduating Dec 2016 with my BSN. I did not take any review courses. I studied for about 5 hours combined and took the test as soon as possible. There were questions that were almost identical to those on the cards from this game. I didn’t really use it as a game, I just made statements out of the questions. Very helpful! I have it to other classmates and classes that followed me and they all agreed! Passed the NCLEX with just 75 questions in under an hour. And no I’m not some brainiac. I knew i had failed the test (which supposedly is a good sign). My gpa was around 3.2. You can study too much! It’s more about critical thinking. The real learning begins once you start working. This game makes studying for the NCLEX fun. Giving random questions in different categories, makes you think about the situations, rules , ect pertaining to the nursing field. Playing this game with people that do not have an education in nursing, is still fun, and creates a lot of discussion, helping to rationalize the reasons why the rules and practices of nursing are the way they are. A++

This is a good study tool and an entertaining way to do so.

So many questions! It's awesome to have a different/fun way to study, especially when we are all stressing about the NCLEX. This games offers so many questions in multiple categories. The rules are simple and the game is straightforward. My friends love it as well!

A great game and study tool. It was missing a game piece when I got it though. Overall a great purchase.
