The No. 1 Car Spotter (Walker Racing Reads)

We love No.1 Car Spotter
We actually went to Atinuke's new Africa book presentation. We loved her story telling and African accent that she specially puts on when she tells her stories (and as she said, can't switch off even during Q&A session 😄). Amazing writer and story teller. All her books are wonderful and simple to read and enjoy. This one is I think last one in the series about No1 Car Spotter. We got them all! Some new some, second hand, some from library on loan!Book is about a life of a smart African boy who lives in a village with his family and has various adventures.Puts the life in a perspective for our pampered little once here.!!! Started cooking our version of Akara at home after reading this book😄Recommended for kids from 5-6 to 12, in my option.Book itself has a soft cover with lovely black and white illustrations.

What a delight
Oh what a delight!I recorded my reading these for my older boys while my younger son was in hospital and they adored the stories.I have been searching for childrens books from around the world to engage my boys with different colours and I am in love with these stories. The stories themselves are funny and interesting and I just love the whole feel of the village without any of the bad manners, hatred of parents and obsession with pop culture that plague many childrens books these day. My only complaint is I want to read more!

Fab book, the first of many. We love Atinuke!
This is a brilliant book, the first of a series. All read by our little girl. Yes that's right. She has read all of Anna Hibiscus books so she loved the author's style so much that she carried on with this series as well.My husband has also enjoyed reading them with her they are fantastic for youngsters to experience what is life for a little boy in Africa. The hardships, the good times, the humour; sound all so realistic and we love to keep reading them over and over again!

Great fiction book for transport-mad children
This was the first proper fiction book my son (age 8) read. He really enjoyed the story and got through it very quickly. He is keen to read the others in the series.

Very very moreish!
Bought this for my godson, looked at the beginning before I wrapped it and then couldn’t put it down until I’d read the whole thing!

A good read
Completely different to any other book he has read and gave him an insight as to how other children live. My son loved this book - I loved this book... it was a good buy all round.

Love these books
Love these books. Often gift them as me and my girls (6 and 8) enjoy them as lot. The characters are engaging, the stories fun yet easy to read and the setting is distinctively African and fabulous.
