Fermentation Cooler 2.0 version for Home Brewing, Bundle with 4x Large Cooler Shock Ice Packs - Beer Brewing Temperature Control, Keg Cooler, Brewing Bag by Cool Brewing

As a fairly new home brewer in an apartment, I don't have a whole lot of room and even less for storage. One of the challenges is to keep a fairly consistent temperature for my fermenters. Fortunately, I tend to prefer cooler temps (I even love snow) so my apartment tends to range from 65-70 which is perfect for porters/stouts/IPAs. But even still, there are times where the room the fermenters are stored in creep up. I ordered this product to keep at least one fermenter in a more consistent range and it has wildly succeeded. My first recipe I did myself has been consistently at 65 degrees. I change out 1 ice pack every day. The product is very easy to use, and for those of us they don't have the luxury for kegerators or keezers, this product succeeds in delivering consistent temps. I do tend to try to brew a lager once I have a free fermenter (20 gallons fermenting at the moment) and will be using all 4 ice packs. Definitely recommend for those of us who don't have much space.

I wasn't quite ready to to spring for a glycol chiller system and this seemed to be the best option. So far I've been able to keep the temperatures where I need them for fermentation. 65° to 69°F in a 7 gallon Fermonster. The air lock has to poke through the top zipper a bit, unless you use a blowoff tube. Be careful when filling the ice packs. Accidentally overfilled the first one and wound up with a pile of pellets in my sink, unforgiving in that respect. I'm glad I bought it and plan to give it heavy use during summer homebrewing. I have two temperature controllers. One used as a thermometer for the unit, and the other to control a heat tape.

Have not had a chance to use it yet. Seems to be made of good quality material I'm sure this will function properly. Can't wait to try it out.
