Scholastic Flash Cards: Sight Words

Using these to help teach my 5 year old autistic son how to spell and learn sight words. They are just flash cards, but as long as the parents put in the work to help teach the child, they are very helpful. We focus on 3 words at a time. He will say and spell them multiple times with and without the cards. Then I'll test him randomly days later without the cards. So far so good!

Flash cards are so helpful as we are learning to read. Kids like to play school and teach me (Mom) the sight words they have been learning. The cards are durable, we have had no issues of tearing or breaking.

These are very handy to have around when you have a little person learning to read. We match them up with the words he's working on in school that week, make silly sentences, and pick out our favorite tricky words to practice. I just bought a second pack to keep in the car.

I keep these in my car for my daughter. She gets bored on car journey is pretty easily and this has been a good way to keep her on top of her game over this summer holiday. They come at a great prize, like you really can’t beat that. But several of the cards came stuck together, just the only downfall
