EV2825 25' x 1" Self-Lock Evolution Tape Measure, 1-Pack

I had bought the 16ft measure a few years ago and loved it. While measuring something the other day, I had stepped on it and flattened the tape. I forced the tape back into the casing and when I'd pull it out a little, it resisted, and would not auto rewind. So I went and bought the 25' to replace the 16' I sadly broke. While waiting for the new one to arrive, I fiddled with the 16' a bit more, pulling it all the way out and then letting it rewind and it worked fine and is close to how it once was (the tape still has a little bit of flatness where I stepped on it but it doesn't seem to hinder any longer) I will be keeping the 25' because it's just such a really great tape measurer! I love how it locks by default when you pull the tape out and you press the button to release it, rather than the reverse of it retracting unless you press the button. It took a little to get used to but not very long and now I definitely prefer the auto lock with the press to release. Clearly, I'd buy the product again because this was a 2nd purchase. I went directly to my old orders on Amazon to find it so I knew I was replacing it with the same thing (because you know how amazon can be, although even going directly to the product doesn't always guarantee accuracy) I like how large the print is- my eyesight isn't great and it's nice to not squint to see the numbers or the increments. i got a different color so I'd be able to quickly discern which tape is which. It's very rugged- the older one having been dropped numerous times without any issues. And, as stated above, it's incredibly resilient when some flat footed dolt stands on it for awhile and flattens the tape.

Great tape measure with both US and metric markings. Smooth action and the automatic locking feature works great!

I sometimes need to measure things in both Metric and Imperial units, and this does both. Easy to read, even in low light. Vertical measurements are printed on the back. It locks automatically, and a push button releases it. It is well built and has a good price.

Good quality, and I like that it stays in place when I pull it out. It's easy to press the button to retract it.

I'm a big fan of komeleon's self locking tape, but this one doesn't lock quite as strong as others I've used. I worry about how it will be in 2 years. The non-evolutions iteration also feel nicer in the hand in my opinion.

I love these tapes for projects. It's a go to tape. Carrying around a 25 foot tape is too much once in a while. The 1in wide tape and the extra end catch helps. The convenience of the auto lock is a very nice thing to have.

This is a very good quality tape measure. Having the measurements printed on both sides of the tape is proving more useful than I thought it would be. The printing on both sides is very legible and there appears to be a nylon coating protecting the printed measurements from wear. The blade pulls out easily and stops reliably and is easy to retract. Though it is fairly large, it fits very well in the hand. Altogether a very good tool at a very reasonable cost. Best tape measure I've ever had or used.

I am a licensed electrician and plumber and obviously have used a few tape measures in my career. Recently I have gotten into welding and fabrication as a hobby and possible a new business. Using the metric system over SAE has actually helped be more accurate and consistent as well as save time. The rest of the world knows this already... This tape has both SAE for materials and hardware here in the US but metric on the other half, top and bottom sides of tape, make measuring easy. I have looked everywhere for a solid tape. This beats the usual common brands by far

I was very impressed when I opened this tape measure. Honestly never heard of them. As long as the button for retrieval doesn’t break this is my new favourite tape measure. Feels sturdy, metal belt clip dual sided tape white/yellow, this is a sharp tape measure.

It has both metric and imperial. It also has dual side marking. The numbers are easy to read. The movement is smooth, and locking mechanism is working well. It is imported product and so quite costly. Hopefully it lasts lifetime if handled with care.

Three things stand out about this measuring tape: 1. It’s marked on both sides with 90 degree “catches” at 0” both top and bottom. This has come in handy in the first few days of use. 2. It’s 30’ long, not 25’. I’m siding sections of a house that are a bit over 26’ and what a pain it was with a 25’ tape. 3. The tape locks when you pull it out and coils back when you press the unlock button. So sensible!

This is a great little tape measure. If taking long measurements (4 to 5 metres or over) have to take care when rewinding though as the tape winder inside sounds like it might malfunction. But I love the fact that there is no need to lock the winder when you pull it out! It stays in position and the little catch at the end of the tape is a good size and actually stays on to whatever secure end you're measuring from!

Such a nice tape for household use. I wouldn't take this to a heavy workload job site, the mechanism for self locking is surely something that will begin to fail if this tape is abused too much. But for around the house Reno's and home maintenance it's fantastic. Very legible numbering and lines. Measures on the back side are sure neat but it's actually pretty rare that they're useful. Overall a nice handy tape. Live the self locking but don't trust it'll last long.
