Cut blind holes for 40 mm sliding door pulls cleanly & accurately

Accurate, clean bored holes
This forstner bit is superior to other brands when comparing the clean cut of the bore. I prefer this design of the bit compared to those with carbide cutters which are more difficult to re-center when boring thru the workpiece.

Not great for hardwood
Bought this bit for a specific project that needed a metric measurement. Bit is not very sharp and had trouble making holes only 3mm deep. Started burning the wood when it hit a knot and would not drill through it. Had to use a smaller bit to drill out the knot and the clean it up with this bit.

Sharp and Accurate
In the last 10 years I have used many Forstner bits largely from a set I bought at a Big Box store. I have ordered 2 large bits from AMZ. All of those are in standard (inches) and none of them were Fisch bits. I needed a metric Forstner and this Fisch bit was the only one I could find. It cost a little more than I wanted to pay, but it performed so much better than any of the standard bits I have. I am seriously considering buying a whole set of Fisch Forstner bits. Longevity is unknown, but I suspect will be quite good.

High quality bit
Great quality bit. Cuts were clean and quick with little to no splintering when cutting plywood.

Good for Tea Lights
Bought for making holes for Tea Lights as my Forstner bit set did not have one big enough. The wave edging is sharp and gives a good clean finish.Just need to buy a pillar drill now for even better results :)

Spins straight, Cuts Clean
The media could not be loaded. Top quality hand tool brands that I found a joy to use are: Knipex pliers (Germany); Wera screwdrivers (Germany / Czech Republic); Whiteside router bits (USA); and now Fisch drill bits (Austria). This review is for Fisch FSA-134664 Wave Cutter Forstner Bit, 40mm. The price is high but you will not be disappointed with the quality. In the drill press the drill centre point does not wiggle at all - a common problem with cheaper bits. The forged construction is claimed to stay sharp longer - there is a nice demonstration of the durability at 300 seconds into this video on you tube LeBFcCTXZkA. The wave in outer cutting edge gives a cleaner cut than a toothed forstner bit, and cuts faster that a conventional forstner bit.If drilling into particle board or other abrasive material then I would choose a carbide tipped forstner bit, but this Fisch forstner bit is fine for MDF and plywood, in addition to hardwoods and softwoods.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!
