Don't normally do this but must review even before using this travel rod. Excellent packing and fast delivery. Truly excellent hard case only 48cm long with zipper closing and each rod section has its own pocket section within the all in one roll-up compartment packaging.The rod fitted together very well and securely with the usual push fitting and the reel seat is a very easy screw operation. This ensured the reel fitted securely to the handle. The ring eyes are excellent and very smooth.I purchased this rod as I did not want a telescopic one. I wanted push fittings as have always believed this to be preferable.I am a fair weather angler now in my advancing years so will have to wait for the rain to stop and the sun to shine before putting my new toy to the test.UPDATE:May 2024 - Used this rod for first time and have to say it is excellent. Easy to put together, very good screw-up reel seat, light to use and to land the nine Carp to 6lbs and one Tench during that first session.Used the rod for bread on the top with a controller and for luncheon meat on the bottom with a bomb.Very satisfied with my purchase and based upon this first outing I recommend this versatile rod. Will be using this rod again very soon!

I was looking for compact rod that I could easily take with me on the plane or camping trip on motorbike and Rigged and Ready travel rods ticked all boxes. I was after sturdier and longer rod that would fit in my rucksack and decided to get Smuggler 7.Rod feels great, has nice action and is very well built. It comes with two tips allowing choice of different casting weights and rod actions. So far had just few chub and perch and still waiting for first big catch. Might even give it a go on carp fishing session.In case of Rigged and Ready rod is only part of the experience. Their customer service is next to none! On my last fishing trip I pushed tip way to hard while assembling the rod. Had no problem for4h fishing but when I tried to remove the tip it would not move... Long story short I broke my rod.Emailed Andy @ Rigged and Ready, explained what happened and with no questions asked got my replacement parts arranged. Today morning after just few days received delivery. I was shocked when I opened it and saw not only parts that I needed but some extras too! Two additional tips, cool pin and what totally amazed me extra handle that takes just 6th part of the rod and the tip giving you tiny rod perfect for child, ice or dock fishing. What a great idea and surprise.Fantastic product complimented with outstanding customer service.You can be sure I recommend you to every angler I know!

I've been in need to replace my old telescopic travel rod after it jammed and broke! So i was gunning for a travel rod that was segmented, which this fits the part. This is totally compact size, easily getting it into a suitcase, carry on or attached to a back pack. i think the case is shy of 2 foot long. Delivery was quick, I ordered late one evening and received the rod the following day, i didn't even go for express delivery!I did initially have an issue with my rod. 2 of the segments had a poor connection, Plus I was initially missing the small tip for the rod. So I got in contact with the seller and manufacturer, they sent the parts out and all's well that ends well. Can't fault the rod, seems very sturdy, like it can handle a decent size fish and has a fast action to it.

Bought this for a fishing trip to France but will also use while fishing in the UK.Arrived with damage to one section but made contact with seller on Sunday which was very unusual.Replacement section arrived three days later along with extra tips. Excellent customer service.Haven't tried rod out yet but assembled it feels very rigid and well constructed. The two year guarantee is also an added insurance.

Very good compact travel rod and quality for this price

We bought this for a present in June as wanted it for a gift for July as our friends went to Ireland fishing for a week. First had of using it it broke at the handle which is the thickest part of the rod. As you can image he wasn’t not best pleased and nor was we. He had to see if he could borrow a rod for the rest of the week. I would like to get in touch with the seller and get a full refund if anyone can help me please do

Love this rod and co. Great feel and perfect for travel and stuffing in a backpack with the case it comes in. We did a no-no and heaved up a large fish off San Diego at an impossible angle which put too much strain on the tip (was still worth it). Riggy helped us out super fast and got us a replacement part asap. Will definitely buy here again.

Bought this as a traveling rod, and it has quickly become my standard rod now. It's just great how light and sleek this rod is ( compared to my tele ). Fits easily into a backpack, or the tube/pouch can just be attached to the side.Truth be told, the rod might not be able to withstand too much abuse - one my segments lost to a pike. However, the service and the warranty more than makes up for it. The modular design allowed me to continue fishing with a different setup while waiting for the replacement part. I'm already eyeing the infinite ultimate set for even more versatility.I give it an absolute recommendation.
