McGraw-Hill Science Grade 3

I don't hate it but I certainly don't love it. The book has stiff, thick pages every so often which are odd (they are there on purpose) but disrupt the flow of the book. The content is really stretched out. The page numbers are oddly done. I am *amazed* at how much more content we get out of the Spectrum Grade 3 book vs. this clunky one. I wanted to love it, but find myself disappointed, as was my student. I bought it used, so not much was lost, but I wouldn't recommend this to others and I wouldn't purchase from this publisher again.

I wish every textbook was done like this one. It engages the child. The vibrant pictured courtesy of the Nation Geographic Society leaps off the page. The information is presented in the right sized chunks that facilitate a child retaining the information. For the home schooling parent, it is easy to design your lessons, quizzes and tests around this material. Each chapter also includes some experiment suggestions that are easy to do at home. We plan to use the 4th grade version next year.

Great book. Fits right into our schooling. We homeschool and this brings a bit of traditional school into our learning. The pages are fun and colorful and easy to read for my 3rd grader. We will be passing this book on down to sibblings as they reach the grade for it as well.

We homeschool, and this text has great pictures, good at home experiments that aren't difficult, and covers all the science that a third grader is "supposed" to know about. Easy to understand, and my son likes the book

got this for home schooling. the text is laid out well and easy to move through. does not seem to cover lots of new material though, so will have to find supplementals

Book arrived in perfect condition. Text is well written and includes quick labs. At the end of each lesson there are extended learning options through writing, art or technology. Perfect fit for my 3rd grade homeschooler.

If you're looking for a great science book for homeschooling your 3rd grader, then I would highly recommend this one. Each of the lessons is engaging enough to keep their attention while presenting all of information in a way that is easy for them to read and understand. My son loved reading it, which made doing his school work that much easier, and it covered all of the information that a 3rd grader would need to know for science.
