BAVARIAN BREAD Organic Pumpernickle Rye, 17.6 OZ

This bread is terrific if it is toasted first. The crusts get crispy while the rest is chewy and dense. We use olive oil poured over the top but I'm sure butter would be good too. It's a unique bread. Has wonderful complex flavors much like fine wines.

Taste good but you cant cut it ,you cant slice it crumbles .Falls apart.I had to give the crumbs to my chickens.How are you suppose to eat this bread.with a spoon maybe

Great ingredients. Healthy and delicious bread. I bought it many times and would buy again as soon as it is available

I wanted to try an authentic pumpernickel with simple ingredients and I think this is one of the only commercially available options. That said, I didn't personally like authentic pumpernickel, I think I prefer the watered down version of it that most places sell. It's dense, hard to pull apart without breaking (use a knife to re-separate the slices) and doesn't seem to go well with anything in particular (tried as grilled cheese, and just a slice with cold cheese, buttered, etc.) Nothing seemed to be the perfect way to have it. So I think I'll just keep getting the non-authentic kind I like! Might be worth trying though as a curiosity.

This bread did not taste like any pumpernickel bread I've ever tasted before; definitely an acquired taste.

This bread taste okay but it was very moist and the slices stuck together.

I love this bread! It is hearty and delicious!
