Ventura Adjustable Center Mount Kid's Kickstand

Advertised that it fits a16-20 inch bike. It needs a HUGE Allen wrench to attach...BUT the worst thing is that it is too long to use effectively. I'm very irritated, but cut the inner piece to have a functional kickstand for my son. I'm not returning because this has taken me two tries to get this close, but be forewarned if you are looking for a kickstand for a 16 inch bike! The overlay piece can't be used or the bike tips over.

First of all, built and quality for the stand is very nice. But it is described as fitting 16-20” bikes. At the shortest setting it BARELY fits on to my son’s 20” bike (see the picture).Once installed, the bike is practically upright, so any gentle breeze that goes the other way the bike is tipping over.Another small con is that you need a 8mm Allen wrench, which might not be readily available in every household.Finally my part arrived scratched up, which I wouldn’t have cared had it fit. But it doesn’t so it’s going back.

Can't speak for the long term durability but it may outlast the bike. We had a coral reef girls bike that came with training wheels and no kick stand.This bolted right on to the opening behind the main seat-support bar in seconds. The bolt was long enough and install was easy to do if you have a nice set of allen wrenches (the kind with the ball angle on the end).It goes down and back easy enough, has a good spring and is adjustable. The adjustment seems substantial and holds the bike up well. You obviously will have issues on bikes where the brakes activate when the petals go backwards as the petal will reach the kickstand and make you lift the back wheel. These kids bikes are too small to put on a rear kick stand, so this is just something to deal with.

Sturdy, well-built kick-stand to fit our child's 20 inch bike. Spring-action of the stand is so strong that when it is kicked into down-position, the entire kickstand mount will rotate clockwise. As a result, the kickstand leg will eventually hit the pedal or rider's foot when riding. The mount will rotate regardless of how much the bracket bolt is tightened. My solution: take a thick automotive rubber hose, maybe 5/8 inch thick, cut two 1 inch pieces, then cut them both lengthwise. Slide each split hose on the bottom of the each frame tube, split side up. Then install the kickstand assembly on top of it. The hose will provide better grip on the frame tubes and prevent rotation of the kickstand. Yes, all this because the bike didn't come with a kickstand-mount box welded on the frame...

Nice little kickstand however, it doesnt fit all 16" bikes. But with a little modification, it turns out nice.I had to cut 2" off the metal and cut 2" off the plastic boot, then slid the boot back on and drilled a small hole for a set screw (which I wound breaking the head off but it made for a cleaner look anyways 😁).Very happy with the final product. The spring is strong and it keeps the pink/black color scheme. She also thinks shes big stuff too with a kickstand like her big bubba.4 stars overall for having to modify.

I was looking for a good kickstand that fits on a 20" bicycle. I went to a couple of retail stores and found kickstands designed for larger bikes. Yes, you can cut those to fit, but why bother, especially when paying full price. This kickstand is adjustable, so it will fit bikes up to adult (26"), but just as importantly, it will fit a kid's bike right out of the bag. Installing it is easy, just use a hex key. The spring-loaded mechanism is snappy and precise, and adjusting for length is easy, so you can control the bike's lean angle.

Easy to install, easy for the little kids to kick up and down. In the center of the bike, so easy to balance.We also tried a rear-axle kick stand for 16" bikes from REI. That one is too stiff for the little kiddos to kick up and down and was much more of a pain to install. Plus, it's a tiny bit harder to balance the bike on that one because it's not in the center of the frame.This Ventura Adjustable Center Mount Kid's Kickstand is the BEST!

This was purchased for a 16-inch kids' bicycle. Installation was easy, but I ended up tossing the adjustable base, because, even at its lowest setting, the bike still fell over, because it was too upright. Removing the base and just using the main piece gave the bike just enough "lean," though it could still use to have about a half-inch filed down so that it truly supports the bike's weight. It'll work fine for our needs as is.
