Acer G276HL Gbmid 27-Inch Screen LED-Backlit Monitor

I have been through 6 different 27 LCD monitors ranging in price from $240 to $1100 over the last month, this Acer is the ONLY one that does not have any backlight bleeding or clouding issues. It is the little things like this that one would expect from any LCD panel, especially the very expensive ones, but much to many of them seem to have these problems, Asus being the worst.Monitor connected with DVI cable, I cannot speak to the VGA or HDMI quality as I have not tested that.PROS- No dead pixels- No always on pixels- Bright screen, crisp text, uniform color- No backlight bleeding (even on the highest brightness setting)- No clouding- Super thin- Light- HDMI, DVI and VGA connections (comes with all 3 cables!)- VESA mountable- Viewing angle is nice, not as good as IPS panel, but these VA panels Acer is using do a good job- Matte screen preventing any distracting reflections- Capable of a 75hz refresh rateCons- Color depth and warmth could be better, but is very acceptable- No height or right and left swivel adjustment, the only adjustment you get is the ability to tilt the monitor screen itself backwards or forwards, changing the angle that you are viewing the screen at, which to me is the most useless adjustment I can think of.- Controls are a bit cumbersome- Controls are lacking in features- Mirrored finish on bezel, this is subjective of course, and it is a con for me as I like no reflections on my screen or bezel, a matte bezel would have been great.- Ghosting was noticeable during the tests I ran, even my 10 year old Dell 27 LCD is better in this department. A lot of companies use creative math to juice their numbers in this category to make the response time seem better than it is. I have to believe Acer has done this on this particular monitor as the advertised 6ms response time should produce much less ghosting.- Sound is tinny, does not get very loud and distorts very easily, but hey, I didn't buy this for the sound, so really no big deal, great for office though who just needs to hear email chimes, etc.All in all, for the money, this is a very capable monitor, you could even get away with gaming on it if some minor ghosting does not bother you, but as a non gaming monitor, it is an absolute super bargain.

I bought this to replace my 22-inch Acer monitor and have been pleased by the upgrade.The positive features of the monitor include:-DVI, VGA and HDMI ports and the cables are included.-Built in speakers and includes stereo mini-plug cable.-VESA mounting holes.-Very light (lighter than my 22 inch monitor).-Thin.-Adequate to good image quality.-Excellent price (at the time of this review).On the downside:-The built in speakers are weak.-The controls are clunky and cumbersome.-The monitor has only tilt adjustment-no swivel (aside from moving the whole thing, of course).-Color handling is only okay at best.This monitor is a good choice if you are looking for a large monitor at a low price and color precision is not a major concern. This is not to say that the monitor handles colors badly, but if you are a graphics professional you will want to get a monitor that excels in this area. But, if you are a professional, you already know that.While I do some hobby graphics work (book covers, role-playing game maps, etc.) I just need the colors to be good enough and this monitor does the job at a great price. For web browsing, word processing and so on, this is a good choice for a low cost monitor.

I already had two of the Acer S271HL LED monitors. I needed a third, but the S series monitors are now up to 369 dollars - too rich for my blood. So i took a chance on this G series monitor. Well even tho it considered to be inferior to the S series according to the Acer website, from a functional standpoint, i can't tell a difference and it is slightly brighter than my two S series monitors (I actually had to dim it a bit to get it to match the other two). It's stand is a bit of a different shape from the 2012 S series which is not a concern to me and the viewable height is identical within an 8th of an inch or so.This monitor does have integrated speakers which are predictably bad. The only issue i had with them was that they automatically set themselves to be the default speakers and I had to go into the control panel and reset my original 2.1 system as the default. not a big deal at all, but i feel it is worth mentioning.I use these monitors for some light CAD work, some graphics production and some photo editing among other more standard office tasks and I don't have any complaints.Overall, an awesome product for the price and for my needs. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I bought two of these to use in my engineering office. They are spectacular for that purpose, crisp, clear, with great color, contrast and adequate brightness, and no defects. I can spread out dozens of windows, tabs and documents and flip back and forth with no hassle or eyestrain. They work fine with Windows 7 - plug and play.About a month ago, I went shopping for some 27" monitors to go with my new HP desktop, and these came up as the absolute lowest price on Amazon when searching on 27" LED backlit, 4 star and up full HD monitors. At the time, they were 200 dollars, plus tax and the haz waste disposal fee (in California) for a total of about 225. Unbelievable deal! I went back the next day to order another for home, but they were already on back order, but I put my order in anyway, and got the same price, the unit shipped yesterday, so I can't confirm that it is equally good, yet. I see them here now for 250 plus tax and fees. Still a great deal, but I'd guess if you can afford to wait, they might hit that awesome 200 price point again sometime soon.
