Schaum's Outline of Principles of Accounting I, Fifth Edition 5th Edition

The authors do a wonderful explaining the process and giving examples. Plus there are so many problems for you to complete. Each section has an exam so you see how well you are grasping the concepts. I recommend this book to use with your courses. It is always good to have more examples when you are learning something new.

I'm quite obsessed when it comes to purchasing study books and by that I mean I'm very picky with the condition that it's in. I find it hard to study from a second hand textbook or any kind of book that has been damaged. So I was very hesitant as to whether I should purchase this book online or not, but eventually I gave in. I was astounded by the immaculate condition in which it arrived at my doorstep. I sighed a huge sigh of relief, and I have been studying and referring to it constantly throughout my studies. It's a great resource if you're looking to study intermediate accounting. It doesn't just cover the basics, but also covers some topics in more depth. The exercises in the book come with solutions, which is really helpful. Overall, a great text book that arrived in excellent condition.

Great examples

I used this in conjunction with an online class, as reading the concepts online was not working for me. This book helped, and I ended up with an A. I recommend this book; it is well laid out, easy to search and understand concepts and formulas, and an all around solid purchase.

This book was very well written. I used it front to back to brush up on my accounting before returning to work after a 14 year absence. I had taken Accounting Principles almost 30 years ago so this was a great refresher. My only complaint is that the answers should have been at the end of each chapter instead of immediately after the problem. I had to keep a folded paper clipped to the page to hide the answers.

This book is so good! It exceeded my expectations. If you’re an accounting student or you just want to refresh your memory about accounting principles this is the book for you. Their whole collection is great!

I remember this book from years ago in college. I have the Kindle version, but it is about the same, although in the 5th edition now. There is a basic discussion in each chapter followed by numerous examples that help me (the student) practice the ideas outlined in that chapter. I have found this book useful.

The information is good. The writing is fine. The quantity of problems at chapter's end is quite sufficient to help you understand and can use the concepts taught. The only real problem is the paper. It is tissue thin. It is less durable than newspaper. I would not count on these books lasting and being used for reference for long. As far as its physical quality, this is NOT a textbook quality book, by any means. For a few cents more, Schaum's should supply a book with some decent paper
