While this product never mentions that it's great for cleaning and lubricating the pickup rollers on 3-rail model trains, it does that job exceptionally well. I was having lots of running problems will all of my engines on a new build model railroad. The railroad had laid dormant for month as I was working on scenery and as a result, both the track and the engines had dirt and oxide buildup on them. The engines bucked and stalled and simply ran awfully. I tried cleaning the parts with solvent and abrasives, but it wasn't resolving. I posted the question on a model railroad forum and was told about Deoxit brand contact cleaners. I bought both the spray and the Gold Liquid tube product. I used a drop of the Gold on the engine's roller and roller pins and they run great. Smooth, no stalling, just as they should. This product is a conductive lubricant that removes oxide and lubricates electrical contacts resulting in better electrically conductivity and no arcing. I forgot to mention that the engines were also sparking terribly which was creating further roller and track oxidation making the problem worse. GOLD Liquid stopped that from happening. This product was a great discovery and I will continue to use it as long as I'm a model railroader.

This magic tube fixed the USB ports on my Macbook Pro. I only wish I had heard of it earlier. Recently, the Logitech Speaker Lapdesk I had been using with my laptop mysteriously stopped working, producing a horrible thumping sound periodically. Like an idiot, I thought that there was something wrong with the Lapdesk itself and bought another one (at a premium I might add, as Logitech has stopped making that particular model). This one didn't work either! I realized that the USB ports on my laptop were not working any more. I started Googling remedies, and DeoxIT came up immediatey. I bought this tube, plus medium sized foam swabs from Caig Laboratories, also from Amazon. I turned off my laptop completely and then cleaned each USB port using the swabs, removing all the accumulated dust. Then I put a really tiny amount of this product on a clean swab and swished it around inside each port. I waited five minutes and then turned on the computer again. My USB ports work perfectly now! I think this is a great product to have around for all those finicky electrical connections.

This is one of those rare products that actually lives up to the hype. It works wonders on all types of connections. I’m using it with mech mods – a little dab on all the contacts and it makes a marked improvement in conductivity and reliable firing.If the contacts are oxidized, you have to clean them first before applying Deoxit gold. The regular Deoxit (the red stuff) does a good job. After they are clean just dab on the Deoxit Gold, wait a couple of minutes, and you’re good to go. It’s safe to use on gold and other precious metal plated contacts.It has solved the problem I was having with Kick modules losing connection and failing to fire. A dab on the top and bottom contacts, plus the ground posts and it works wonders. I was even able to get my clone Kick to work reliably.Highly recommend. Not cheap, but the small tube lasts a long time since you don’t need to use much at all, and the effects last for quite a while.

I have been using this product for over 30 years. Several friends bring me their audio components for repairs.They know this is a hobby of mine and I have rescued many audio components for them.. Thinking they have a "big problem", I'll just apply DeoxIT to every contact point within the component. Wait a few minutes, then work it into the switches, pots, jacks and relays. Most of the time my "secret sauce" will remove all traces of noise and make me and my friends happy. Of course DeoxIT will not revive a failed electrical component but usually the problem is just dirt and or corrosion in older or vintage equipment. Please don't tell my friends about my secret!!! I want them to keep bringing me their stuff so I can play with it...By the way the seller, TOOL DEALS shipped fresh, new product to me very quickly. I highly suggest that you do business with them.

I saw somewhere that this product can fix my DSLR lens auto-focusing issue. Apparently the contacts between the lens and the camera could be dirty and that can lead to intermittent disconnections that make auto-focusing screwy. I didn't think that this would be the answer to my problem, but for under $20 why not give it a try. I was astounded when the lens works really well after I applied DeoxIT GOLD to the contacts on the lens and then the camera. In fact, I think the lens works even better than before!!! In the past when I apply a small twisting pressure to the lens the auto focus would go crazy, but now the connection is rock-solid regardless of how I touch the lens. I don't know what's in this golden liquid but I'm so thankful that it works. I highly recommend this product. You don't need a lot of it either. I just dabbed each of the contact balls and pins with this solution and everything works great. At first I wasn't sure whether DeoxIT GOLD was the right product since it's for gold contacts. It works for the silver plated contacts as well. I now carry a tube of DeoxIT GOLD in my camera bag just in case I need it again.

I had a problem with a poor contact in my phonograph. I had tried cleaning the contacts with acetone but the cure was only temporary. I applied a minute amount of this product and the problem was instantly resolved. Three weeks later there have been no signs of the original poor contact. Highly recommended.
