Works great in my top-load, impeller (not agitator) washing machine. Just follow these 6 steps
Works great in my top-load, impeller (not agitator) washing machine. I threw my hat in with my clothes and it came out nice and clean on the first try. The plastic frame is not damaged whatsoever. Some reviewers seem to have had issues using a washing machine, so I will detail exactly what I did for success: 1) Spray stain remover on trouble spots, especially on the sweat stains inside of the hat. 2) Pour laundry detergent all over the hat, using your hands to completely massage the inside and outside of the hat in soap. 3) Load the washer with your clothes, then place the hat on top of the clothes topside up. 4) Add laundry detergent as normal, maybe a little less since the hat is covered in the stuff. 5) Wash clothes as normal. I did not use any sort of "delicate" or "heavy duty" modes. 6) Do NOT put in the dryer with your clothes. Hang it outside to dry or in your house under a fan. Leave it inside the plastic frame until dry. If you want the hat to be even more clean, just throw it in with another load of clothes before drying. After washing with my black clothes in cold water and then my white clothes in hot water, my ancient hat looks very clean. Keep in mind that I have a top-load, impeller (not agitator) washing machine. That means that the hole to put clothes in is on the top, and there is no giant cylinder with blades inside of my machine. If you have a front load and/or agitator washing machine, your results may vary from mine. Also be aware that the plastic frame is two pieces that clip together, one big clip in the back and two small ones in the front. One of the front two clips had come undone when I washed my hat the first time, and I simply popped it back into place. This did not happen the second time I washed it. I did not try using a dish washer to clean my hat and I probably won't bother, since I have had so much success just adding it to my laundry routine.

Serves it's purpose, better instructions would be useful
NOTE: I HIGHLY recommend that you use this in a dishwasher only. Due to the overall construction, I don't see how it could last long in a clothes washer. The Nike hat was my golf hat that I had "retired" due the sweat stains really showing. The other hat is one I like to wear on any given day with a pair of jeans. Before washing, I sprayed some of the more heavily soiled areas with a spray 'n wash-equivalent cleaner, hoping for a better result. I placed the hats in the top rack and ran it on a standard wash cycle. When the cycle ended, I removed the hats and was slightly shocked to see that while they looked overall cleaner, every area that was heavily soiled before washing was still dirty. I ended up taking a wash rag and scrubbing over where the sweat stains were on the exterior of each hat, as well as the head band area on the inside of each to remove a large amount of remaining stains that were likely from sweat combined with hair product residue. The last three photos show the results after allowing the hats to dry. Pros: The frame serves it's purpose of keeping the hat's shape while washing. It's fairly sturdy, snaps together snugly, and stayed snapped during the wash. It should last for numerous cycles in the top rack of the dish washer. Cons: Many people that purchased these likely haven't used them before. The seller should include better instructions, including possibly having to pre-treat hats, and/or even having to scrub certain parts of the hats to ensure better cleaning. If the seller had done this I would have rated it 5-stars.

Exactly what's in the description
Works great. Best used with very small loads of laundry. Had one pop open on me. Probably user error. Great product. Should have gotten the special cleaning products too.

Got em
Must have for that always clean hat. And it keeps its body. But you must wash and dry in a dryer for it to work rite. Air drying isn't best for these

Invest a little more.
They cannot handle a wash, they don't break, but can't hold it together through the washers cycle. Better to pay a little more for a more reliable product.
