The old standard bug shield served well however became brittle and the edge would catch on my jacket often breaking it. I have had 2 since getting my Tahoe in 2017. Looking at the newer models it seems the extended grille rising up and over the hood is becoming the standard look and protection against stone chips and bugs. Applying the AVS Auto Ventshade 436011 Aeroskin II Textured Black Flush Mount Hood Protector was very easy, fits snug and looks great, actually making the front end look a bit larger and modern. The textured black does match the running boards and other black trim including the bully bar I had installed some years ago. Love the look, yes aside from functionality, it looks cool!

Put this on a 2013 Avalanch. But it’s the same hood as the Tahoe Suburban and Silverado. This is my second one first one took an impact of large piece of ice that was on a car infront of me that dislodged flew in the air and crashed dead center into it. Of course it broke it but I believe it kept hood from getting a large dent. Install is easy but remember prep is EVERYTHING. I used what they give you to prep the hood for the install and then used 90% rubbing alcohol where the two sided tape is to go. You need to get off all the road contaminates and wax for good adhesion. The bug deflector is just like it says it’s a skin goes directly on hood much nicer than the old school ones that mounted under hood and sat an inch or two off the hood. Looks better in my opinion. Perfect fit

This piece really makes the front of the truck look less like a soccer mom mobile on my 2011 Suburban LT! Fit extremely well and mounts securely. Instructions kind of suck as I was confused on the expansion plugs and then realized that the end with the metal threaded portion faces up. So if you buy one and you keep tightening the screws but it's not actually securing the deflector to the hood just flip the expansion plugs over and try again. Once that was figured out install took 10 minutes from opening box to driving down the road. If you have a Phillips screwdriver you can install this. Great price from Amazon too and shipped with no issues. No damage to the deflector and all mounting hardware in the box.

Fitment was great, easy to install. Covers up rock chips and prevents more from happening. Not sure about the glue they sent with it. I just used the tape they have pre cut already on the shield. Matches a black vehicle perfectly. . . Been over six months now still like the day I put it on. Hasn't faded, holds up through car wash. Worth every penny would definitely recommend.

I was a little skeptical about buying this one because of the cost but I have to say it looks amazing on my 2010 Chevy Tahoe. It fits perfectly snug to the hood. ImproveD the look of my SUV by years. One tip is when you stick in the little rubber grommet into the hood polls you have to hold it there while you put in the first screw once you tighten down the screws it will expand the rubber and it will hold tight do you have to do one side at a time makes it easier when somebody holds the other side for you. I was a little thrown off at first thinking that there’s no way it’s going to stay in the hole that you have to take the screws out and then the rubbers expand. I looked at a Identical one but almost double the price. I have to say this bug guard was the best purchase I bought for my car so far. The quality is excellent and I still able to go through quick quack car wash with it on I highly recommend this product for your Chevy vehicle

SO- I’ve had this on for 3 months now with love bug season in central florida, and I believe I have it figured out. There is a “sweet spot” for speed, where literally no bugs hit the windshield, which is crazy to me. Right around 42 mph, but between 40mph and about 46-48mph, the bugs fly right over the roof which is crazy. 50-55 some of them hit the winshield, and any faster, they just don’t make it over the roof, and if you’re going 70 or 80, they may help a little but for the most part, you’re gona be scrubbing love bugs off. I put this on a 2012 tahoe, took 10 minutes to install it, very simply. Another bonus is no rock chips from trucks or just road debris on the hood, which is probably worth it. Doesn’t look so bad either
