Wow, what can I say about this little beast. Probably one of the best little basher there is. It exceeds expectations, it is super tough, very quick for it's size and handles great. The "fun factor" of these are way higher than many other faster more "high end" name branded RCs. I have 3 of these myself. After showing them off to my family and friends, they have ordered some for themselves because they were so impressed with it. You can bash these without worrying about breaking them within reason! Even in the rain! Yes they are waterproof, more so than I expected, but still wouldn't advise getting it fully submerged (although I took mine through some huge mud puddles, and still all good). I do suggest you clean and WD-40 after running it in the harsh elements to keep it alive and well. I would say the only weak points or cons so far I have found are: -Body shell is thin and will crack quick. However you can cure this by gorilla taping the inside of the shell. It will do wonders, especially where the body mount holes are. While it does add minor weight, it makes the body able to hold up to the abuse the rest of the RC can endure. -Body clips are super thin and these RCs will shed them the first time you roll or flip it. Highly recommend ordering extras and having them on hand when you go out and bash. I ordered some 1/16 clips by apex on Amazon and they are much heavier duty and will actually stay in, plus they come in a pack of 100 so if you do lose one you have tons of spares. -Battery that comes with it does not give you much run time, maybe 10 mins maximum. It also doesn't unleash the true potential of these little RCs. I highly recommend buying a LiPo for it (search "7.4v 1100 mAh LiPo JST", there are a couple options. These are the batteries for WLtoys A949, A959, A969, A979 and A929 and will fit into the HBX Rampage, Hailstorm, and Rachet. You just have to move the screw up one hole on your battery hold down). These batteries are probably the biggest upgrade you can do along with adding the upgraded oil shocks. Turns this thing into a little animal with added punch and acceleration, along with 2x or more the runtime. Only thing is to be mindful about not running the battery too low as I do not believe the ESC has a LiPo cutoff so if you run it too low it can damage the LiPo. -Shocks that come stock are friction style without oil and are extremely bouncy and make it a bit hard to control, and do not protect the chassis from bottoming out so you will bang it up quick. The upgraded oil shocks available for these are completely worth it. Highly recommend. Makes this RC go from toy to hobby grade. The only part I have broke on these is a part in the steering assembly. I would say this is the only weak link in this whole platform. I wish they had an upgrade for it but unfortunately they do not. Just be aware this is the part to check after hard hits and crashes. I have broke 2 on 2 separate occasions. Both were probably my fault as I'm not easy on these at all but as stated before, it is a weak point. What makes it even tougher is the part is not available from anywhere in the USA and has to be ordered from China. It took about 3 weeks for me to get so if you do break this part be expecting a bit of down time. I would also recommend buying extras if and when you do order it. (HBX part# 18109). Overall, I can't say enough good things about this little RC, it has been one of the best most reliable and fun RCs I have ever owned, period. Highly recommend. Thing will take abuse and just keep going, and has great performance to boot. I always bring one in a backpack when I go out bashing any of my other RCs and always end up ending the bash session with it! (My little Ole reliable!) While I have only had this car for a week or two now I have used it multiple times a day every day since with my 10 yr old. We are both beginner's to the R/C world and needed something better than the sharper image cars we were using. This car for the bill perfectly. The 2 speed options are perfect for our different skill levels. First thing we did was sand and paint the body though as the styling wasn't a fit for our taste. I did purchase 2 extra batteries and I'm glad I did. While you do get a good 15 min or so per battery it's a lot more convenient to just swap a battery than waiting on a charge. We have beaten the hell out of this thing? My son stepped on it in a full run, smashed a stop sign pole at full speed, and have flipped it a hundred times! All causing nothing but cosmetic damage! The only complaints I have so far with it would be the battery compartment and size. It's really small compared to the sharper image one we have and the battery holder tab tends to open causing the battery to fall out even with the cotter pin installed. All in all a great car for beginners and intermediate skill levels! A great buy! Fast, durable, easy to use, and most importantly....FUN!

Yeah, these are so fun and durable so far after 6 months of owning the first one. Love you can switch it in slow mode on the controller and hand it to a kid. Slow mode is still pretty fast for a 4yr old, but not too fast where it can damage its self if they run into something and hold the trigger down not knowing what to do. In normal speed mode, it's plenty fast and fun for me even. I would recommend this to any RC enthusiast looking to share in the fun of RC with kids. Funny, in this review it's asking for the user age to help others buy for the right age. The speed switch makes it to where this toy can be suitable to a wider range of users ages. I would suggest 3yrs+ all the way to adult.

These are great. My nine-year-old loved it. I bought an extra. Very fast and they appear to be durable after a few months of use

I purchased two of these for both my boys. They absolutely love these RC trucks! The quality is exceptional all the way down to the clips that keep the shell on the truck frame. They can get about 20-30 minutes of play time per battery when running at 75% of the top speed. These little trucks are super fun to take to the beach, the park, the desert....pretty much anywhere you can think of taking them! Just so much fun and easy to use!

First off this is my first fast rc car and I love it probably hits a good 30 mph.. feel like any faster you would need a wide open area. Cut threw grass dirty as if it was on road. Ive banged it around few times thought I broke it couple times but it's hasn't broken yet. Steering good.. only problem is sometime there is a delay when parked try to go reverse but not when going forward you can spin around easily.. fast enough Ive only had it couple days and I know I'm need tires at some point cause this truck puts a bearing on them cause of the instant speed and accidental drifting.. no issues doing 360 on anything also I know I just got it but I feel like my batteries are lasting a good 30+ min when I only thought they would last like the rest 15 min even on full speed the whole time so I'm really impressed with this truck and well worth $80

Fantastic RC truck. 4wd works great and climbs over all sorts of objects easily. My son and I have been using the vehicle on the slow speed for more than 30 minutes and the first battery still has life left. The body is a bit flimsy but the wheels have hit table and chair legs at full speed and nothing has been damaged.

I don't ever write reviews, Literally my first. The 1/18th scale rampage arrived pretty much RTR. There was a issue with a wheel bearing, Which I can attest to is all metal and the bearing you want in a world of plastic crap. I reached out the Dome toys and was blown away by their customer service. Responses where fast and they where 100% from the beginning willing to do whatever it took to instill confidence in their product. I truly believe it was a fluke with the bearing. I received the replacement part promptly and was in contact with Dome toys the whole time. I paid for this car and in no way paid for this review, I assure you. Just blown away with product support. As for the little ripper of a car, I've owned bigger scale cars and this little thing is stupid fast and capable. The fully proportional steering and throttle are amazing. Parts are repairable and up-gradable. I can't even give 4 stars due to the customer service. Quality product and a riot to rip around anything you throw at it.
