Helpful. Useful. I'm coming back to sewing with a new sewing machine and serger after many years so there have been a lot of changes and I have forgotten much. Refreshing and re-educating. Many "A-ha" moments in this book as I learn and re-learn. Thank you, Mary McCarthy.

What a great resource for those who are into sewing. I was intrigued by the question and answer format and since my daughter is an amature seamstress, I bought for her.

I'm not a novice seamstress, but haven't made any of my own clothes for quite a long while and thought I'd better get a book to refresh my skills. I'm so glad I bought this book as not only has it helped me remember skills I already had, I've learned new ones. Very comprehensive advice, ranging from what equipment to buy, through measuring yourself for an accurate fit to the best type of zipper to use for which garment. All in all an excellent book that I will be consulting often.

Recieved this book today and am not disappointed.Has loads of good advice and really good q's that I have asked many times myself. I'll be using this as a go-to refernce book rather than a sit and read in one go type of book and know it will come in very handy.

I have a few of the 200 questions answered books and love them all, I started by reading them through from start to finish and now refer to the relevant sections as and when required, for someone with not much experience they have been really useful.

Bought for my daughter as a quick how to book for her A level textile studies.She likes it and recommends it. I was a D&T teacher in high school so I know a book like this is well worth the money.
