Blake Hoena has written a book which I will call a "choose your own adventure." The main theme is the building of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. The author gives you excellent basic facts about how the bridge became so important that it needed to be built. He discusses the process , the engineers, designers, and of course the very hard working men who risked their lives to build this amazing bridge.I decided to read all the paths in this story. I have driven over the bridge and know of its importance and the thrill of going from one side to the other. As you read and choose paths the reader will learn of the challenges and dangers in building the bridge. You will feel like you are present in the time of the building.Although this book is written for children, I believe adults will enjoy the content. Maybe you and your child can enjoy it together.
