Amazing gadget to enhance your library
Great product! Heavy, Sturdy, nice color and finishings. What I wasn't expecting, was the nice couple of rings (lord of the rings style) included with the cryptex. This is a great idea to propose someone: give him/her the cryptex and a list of clues to solve the right password!.In my case, just bought it as an ornament to create a misterious atmosphere for my old books collection. Don't know yet what should hide inside the cryptex... Time will tell

Wildly underpriced
I don't know that I've ever been motivated to write an Amazon review before, but I'm legitimately blown away by this thing.I was kind of expecting foil covered plastic that worked alright. For the price, I honestly would have thought that was fair for a fun gift giving thing.I'm kinda blown away. It's made of solid metal, works smoothly, looks *amazing*, and they even threw in extra goodies, a nice box, and a gift bag.6/5 stars. I seriously may buy another.

Worked great as part of a birthday puzzle
Used as part of an "adventure game" birthday gift for a friend. It's super heavy and pretty well made, and makes an impressive statement as a gift. It inexplicably comes with two replicas of the One Ring, and an unrelated card; but I was able to work them into the puzzle anyway. Really curious how those choices were made! I was a little bothered that the brass color was inconsistent between the ends and the rings; but this is only something you'll notice if you're a prop nerd and using this for something like an escape room (and you could easily age it a bit to match). Very tiny caveat. I aged up a piece of paper for a clue inside and it worked fantastically for that, felt really premium anyway. The recipient was very impressed by it.Re: passcode setting, which may concern other folks: It's not super difficult to set a new passcode, though you may have to look up a YouTube video of someone using a similar one. But it basically is just a giant tumbler lock, and you just have to reposition the tumblers by removing them and putting them back on in the desired alignment to "change the password". Once you've got it, it's easy. It's a little fiddly to get the rings to stop spinning when entering the code (they need to line up fairly well to open), but it's not that difficult. Of the iterations of this type of puzzle, this one is solid.

One Puzzle to Rule Them All
This product is the ultimate test of your inner Tolkien fan and cryptic genius. You solve the code, and what's your reward? Now, just one but two beautiful Lord of the Rings treasures that make you feel like you've unlocked the gates of Mordor. The journey to crack the code was half the fun--like Frodo on another adventure except no Sam to help me.If you love LOTR or enjoy cool unique gifts like this. I think you will love it. I do.

Really Cool
I've been looking to get one of these for a while and was happy with the result. The entire cryptex is metal and has a good bit of weight to it so it doesn't feel cheap, also the packaging is very nice. Almost like opening a treasure chest and finding the treasure sitting on a satin bed.The one I got came with a brown paper gift bag, a very nice cardboard box covered in Egyptian hieroglyph writing, a small black draw-pouch (with two chain necklaces and two black rope necklaces for the two rings in the cryptex, as well as a mini Allen wrench and two replacement screws for changing the cryptex code). Inside the box, there was also a card and envelope made from thick card stock, under that was the black pouch and the cryptex with the two rings inside. The cryptex is sitting on a cut out foam pad/brick wrapped in a blue satin cloth. The only thing I did not like was the rings. They were to small (maybe child size) and I think they were probably just made of cheap aluminum based on how light they were. That's fine though, I bought it for the cryptex, not the rings. They were just a bonus.

Perfect gift
My daughter loves fixing things, assembling things, and all kinds of challenging puzzle type things, so this was one of her Christmas gifts. I gave it to her while she was visiting me and she had to take it on the plane. The guy who opened it was so confused as to what it was! It’s a little bit smaller than I expected, but the quality is incredible. She loved it!

Smooth functionality
I bought two of these from different companies and this one works perfectly. The other one gets jammed easily. I’m extremely happy with this one. It’s so heavy and very fun to use.
