Very good nymph rod, especially for the price.
I got the 10.5’ 3wt for nymphing big trout in heavy pocket water. Long time fly fisher new to euro-style nymphing. This is a remarkably nice rod, comparable in fit and finish to rods 3X the price. It balances just fine with a 6-7wt-size fly reel. I’ve used it just once but hooked and landed a bunch of robust 16-18” wild rainbows on 4X in heavy current no problem. The tip loads up and flings size 14 beadheads well but it handles strong heavy trout too. I use a bunch of premium saltwater and freshwater fly rods and this one does not disappoint at all — I will use it a exclusively for dedicated nymphing and pretend I paid $750 for it. . The extra tip is a nice bonus just in case, but it seems plenty tough. I am very happy with the purchase.

Beautiful rod. The 10’6” is a great length for euro style nymphing. Tip is on the heavier side so hard to find a reel that balances it well. The butt section is more like a 5wt so no problem fighting bigger fish. Good 3wt to protect lighter tippet on agressive takes or runs. Craftsmanship is excellent, along with extra tip included for peace of mind on wknd trips.

Excellent for euro nymph, need 5-6wt line for dries.
Does everything a euro nymph rod is supposed to do. Great tippet protection. Turns the head of larger fish with ease. Easy handles “casting” long euro style leaders. However, know that if you need to swap lines and leaders for a dry fly hatch, you’ll need a 5 or 6 weight line to fully load and cast this rod. Again, excellent for strictly euro style nymph fishing but you’ll need a 5-6wt line to load and cast this rod if you’re fishing dry flies or a dry dropper rig.

Wonderful Rod!
Lately I’ve been getting into euro nymphing because you have so much more control than when using an indicator. Before I bought this rod I was just using my 9ft 5wt redington vice which is a great rod also, however I needed a specialty rod like this to cover more water wherever I stood. I read the reviews for this rod and was really liking what everyone said so I decided to give it a shot. First day I got it, I took it out on the Boise river and I loved! It has a great sensitive tip and I can feel every little tick. However, it’s tough adjusting to a euro nymphing rod. The only thing that I have to get used to is that it’s a little heavier and I have to find a reel that will balance that out a little bit. Overall wonderful rod for the price and great purchase!

Great value. Very sensitive
Great rod for the price. A little top heavier than I expected - I had to counter balance it with an 8 wt reel but it worked. Fished 6 to 8 hours wading on the river for 5 straight days without any unusual arm fatigue and I’m 72.

Gorgeous rod!
Received faster than anticipated. Heavy duty tube and extra tip section really increases the value of this rod. I’m new to fly fishing and this is my first nymphing rod. Not sure what to expect, but the rod is well built, light and very sensitive. Paired with a Lamson Remix 5/6 it is a bit tip heavy, even with the down locking feature. Only had it out once, and it was blowing 20+. Not a good test IMHO. But I anticipate pure joy once there is a nice Rainbow on the other end. I’ll be replacing my 9’ 5 wt with a Moonshine rod very soon. Highly recommend.

Fantastic beginner nymphing rod
Bought this thing as my first dedicated nymphing rod. I also purchased a 2wt 11ft Syndicate at the same time. I actually prefer this to the Syndicate and if I had to pick one rod to have between the two I'd take this in a heartbeat and in fact I actually prefer casting it. I also like that it's beefy enough that I can throw a dry fly on it when I have to. I wondered if it would feel too stiff/big for fish in the 12 inch range but they feel good on it, and of course it'll easily handle stuff 20+.Tip is very sensitive and because of the thicker butt section the action while fighting the fish is great. Love the replacement rod tip, especially because if you're not used to a longer rod I could definitely see it going in the dirt the first few outings. Thing looks fantastic too.I'm sure there are better rods out there but this thing does everything I need it to do and then some, and for the price it is an absolute bargain. One of the best parts about fishing this thing is that because it's affordable I'm not worried about dropping a paycheck every time I fish with it. If you are looking for a good, affordable all-around nymphing rod stop reading reviews and buy it.

Great rod at any price
The fit and finish on this rod is flawless. It is beautiful to look at as it is functional. This has become my new favorite rod. I use it every place I can. The only exception is on tight brush creeks where I use my old favorite rod a 9' 3wt Legend Ultra. I'd recommend this rod to anyone without reservation.
