Q: Q: is the non-stick surface ptfe and pfoa free?

From company's website: The BELLA Ceramic Copper Titanium 12″ x 12″ Skillet has a unique ceramic non-stick coating that is eight times more durable and cooks up to 30 percent faster than standard non-stick coatings. The coating is reinforced with titanium for outstanding durability and resistance to metal utensils. This healthy-eco coating does not contain lead, cadmium and is PTFE and PFOA free.

Q: Can you make grilled cheese sandwiches using butter on this griddle ?

I have the electric skillet, and It is great for grilled cheese sandwiches! That was the first thing I cooked on the non stick copper. My 11 year old grandson, a grilled cheese maker, wanted me to talk his mom into buying one! The skillet can get a coating from cooking eggs, etc. To clean, I fill with water, 2 or 3 cups, and approx. 2 Tbs of Baking Soda, ( I never measure). I let this boil for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water and wipe gently with a paper towel.

Q: Can the "copper titanium" coating leach copper into your food?

There's no copper in this product. It's only copper colored. You can search and search and you will not find ANYWHERE where it says that there is copper in the surfact or griddle. It's a ceramic griddle that is "Titanium reinforced" what ever THAT means. (It's a very vague comment) No where is it EVER mentioned that there is actual copper in the product. The only place "Copper" appears is in the product name. Then Bella knows that the customer will make an ASSUMPTION that there is copper in the griddle when there is, in fact, no copper to be found.

Q: Why does it say not to use spray oil?

Any pan with a non-stick coating, such as the copper pans, teflon pans, or green ceramic, etc... sprays will cause them to start sticking- You should not use spray "chemicals" on anything, as they are not good for you, and they are harmful to the pans- The aerosol sprays are what can cause them to start sticking-
