As a redheaded girl growing up in the 90’s there was only one Disney princess I could identify with, Princess Ariel. I took that super seriously I suppose because I am crazy about mermaids to this day.I wanted a mermaid/coastal bathroom theme but I wanted it to still give the impression (however inaccurate it may be) that it is the bathroom of a grown woman. This proved difficult because most the mermaid bath items (towels, mats, accessories, etc.) are made for little girls. In fact, when it comes to bath rugs this one is the only one I could find that is made of cotton and has a mermaid on it! Cotton bath rugs are my favorite because they’re super absorbent, long lasting, and can be thrown in the washer and make it through to the other side still looking good.I really liked the appearance of this rug and I ended up using the colors featured in it to be the baseline for all of my other decor. I purchased a seashell shaped bath mat in the same turquoise shade of the mermaid. I placed the shell one in front of the toilet and this one goes in front of the sink. They turned out pretty cute actually! I selected a shower curtain that contained the same colors and also features a mermaid (I did not care for the shower curtain that goes with this set) but I did like the matching bath towels so those are what I am using on the towel racks. Overall it turned out pretty cute and it even kind of appears to be a big girls bathroom! My only issue is that I have a gaudy gold chain and orb looking chandelier thing straight from the 1970’s hanging above the mirror as the light. It finally occurred to me the other night that I can cover the chain with rope (like used for nets) and replace the orb things with glass fishing floats which will go along with the whole theme perfectly so that’s what I’m going to do! If I wasn’t a renter I would renovate the whole entire thing but I thought it would be smarter to be a waitress and surf a lot instead of go to college so I doubt I’ll be owning a home anytime soon!The rug is super soft. It’s nice and thick and large as well. The only things I’m not crazy about are:1. It’s mostly all a very bright white which looks good at first but since it is a floor mat tends to get a dingy really quickly and it can’t be bleached because of the other colors in it.2. It has these wave stripes running across it that you cannot really see in the picture. These wave lines are also white but they are made of a different thread that is silky and shiny. I think the goal was for these waves to give of a water effect but for some reason, and it may be the lighting in my bathroom, but these lines look like dirt smudges from far away. It’s not a big deal but I could have done without the wave line thingys.Still, overall it’s a great high quality rug and one of a kind! I highly recommend it!

The product is still presentable, but it is not as shown in the picture, the item is not all blue. It is white, and the indentations are blue. Also, the paint job is not as even as in the photograph; it looks like a DIY job with a professional clear glaze.

I had to add mermaids to this wastebasket as there are no mermaids on it Liked the waste basket though But our daughter wanted a mermaid waste basket you should take”mermaid” off the description

This product was just “ok” very light and fragile. Doesn’t allow weight for shower curtain and they pop off

Exactly as listed. Colors are true. Nice little bathroom rug.

Super cute for a bathroom mat. True to color and size. It can be slightly slippery but I put a couple of foam stick on backers on it and it stays put just fine. I love it because it doesn’t look kid like and everyone compliments my mermaid rug.

After first hand wash, got a big “stain” mark on the body

I was not dissapointed when opening the package. It survived the trip to norway without any cracks (well packed). I love it! The hand paiting is great and so far it is my new favorite bathroom item.

Was after something decent for bathroom that would give a smile. This is great, solid unit and decent size. Is as pictured.
