Scrabble Complete (Jewel Case) - PC

It plays okay in Windows 10 but you need to leave the CD in the drive just to play the game. Me i always like installing games and put the CD's away.

Works well after some difficulty installing

This is the old Scrabble game on a Cd. It is okay but not as good as the Scrabble game that I cannot find anywhere, anymore. I am not sorry I bought it. It is a nice nostalgia item to have.

Still attempting to get this program to work on a WIN8.1 computer. It's listed to run on the XP platform which is covered under the WIN8 OS but somethings not right. Still futzing with this to see how to accomplish the full install and have this run glitch free.

this is one of my mothers favorite games but she had nobody to play the game with, so I bought her this computer program version of it and now she can play anytime she wants because she can play against the computer. she is not at all computer savvy yet she learned how to work this very quickly and easily.

It's sad that a great classic game like Scrabble can only be found on CDs so old that it must be in drive to play.What I dislike:Inability to remember my settings and preferences, having to go through them every time.It's fullscreen only, so it must be quit and restarted whenever I feel like a quick game.There's no way to skip the intro which gets annoying.The graphics are old school and the interface is clunky.The dictionary is not just a click away, you must first click on 'Guides' then 'Dictionary' every time you need it.The text on the board, dictionary, etc. looks barely readable on my monitor and there's no adjustment option.Unchecking 'penalty' in game preferences will not be honored.Several other minor bugsWhat I DO like:It's better than nothing.

I bought the Atari-branded version of Scrabble Complete hoping they had fixed the problems in the 'Hasbro' version.Nope. It seems to be the same item, no improvement at all.Scrabble Complete is a sadly flawed Scrabble program. It has some great features, some surprising omissions, and a lot of awful, killer bugs.For example, in Windows XP SP2 (perhaps elsewhere, don't know), it will blank the screen while you're playing, and only reveal parts as you scroll over them. Very annoying.The dictionary lookup is poor--it misses obvious extensions of words that are valid. That's a terrible flaw in a reference tool.It requires you to keep the CD in the drive (copy protection, likely), so your laptop battery runs out fast (bad for 16 hour flights).Accessing the dictionary to look up words is awkward. It should be a up-front menu command/button. You must go several levels deep to even find it.There are lots of great features I won't go into, because the flaws make this an exasperating program.Too bad Hasbro, which restricts use of the Scrabble name, can't manage to get a better Scrabble program out on the market. I'd pay real money to buy one if it were available.

Scrabble is my favorite game to alleviate boredom and keep my mind sharp. I don't always have a partner to play on my board game so this computer disc is just the right thing.

It is very difficult to find a good Scrabble game for the Windows PC. This game uses old technology and the CD must be kept in the CD reader for the game to be used. There is a long introduction before the game starts which is totally unnecessary. Many words that are in the official Scrabble dictionary are rejected by the software, and it is difficult to re-arrange the letters on the rack.

The game is good, but it takes too long to start and I have to move the disk to use it on my laptop instead of my desktop unit.

Great game disc. I spend many hours playing different games. Thank you.
