The illustrations look too much like the movie actors. Many of us envisioned Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, McGonagall, and the entire cast much more differently, based on our own mind's eye and reading of the book, so forcing them into some cookie cutter image was a major downside. Just depict the environment and the objects, like the food at Christmas dinner or the milieu of the Gryffindor common room. We don't need to have the actors' likenesses ruin any sense of imagination! Review: I was looking for a book to introduce HO to my almost 4 years old and this book is just magical! The drawings inside are just perfect. I am so happy I can start sharung my passion for HP to my daughter! Great book, but only if your toddler is used to read long books as we are. Otherwise I would wait a little longer.
