Jack Ratt Lyme Bay Black Cherry Mead, 75 cl

A very nice mead with great flavour. honey with an aftertast of cherry almost finished the bottle if I had got it on the weekend I could have easily finished it in one night. Will definitely buy again infact i have been hinting to the family to get me more for Christmas

Absolutely delicious, so much so I finished the bottle in an evening. You can really taste the black cherry and it's the right amount of sweetness. I'll be buying this again and again.

I had purchased a bottle of black cherry mead as a celebration for getting a new job in the past week. Initially, I was looking online in the UK for stores that would have any mead at all. Apparently, this bottle would be available in Waitrose stores near me. However, I did not find any, as they seem to be quite limited in brick-and-mortar stores.Flavour 3★When I saw its availability on Amazon, I was pleasantly surprised. Amazon seemed to have a couple of different flavours which I did not recognise and have not tried. Flavour-wise, it is quite a nice taste, and not overly sweet, despite being a mead, of course.Rather than being cheap honey water, it is quite delectable for the price. And the cherry flavour is quite delicious as well. I would say it's much better than having basic honey flavour.But that depends if you like the sweet profile of mead in general. I would say give this one a try, and determine whether or not it's to your liking.Having made mead myself in the past as a hobbyist, this doesn't compare to a good quality homemade version, but as a quick and cheap bottle, it suffices.Value for money 4★For me, I wouldn't buy it again if I didn't have any bottles of my own brand at home, but as a quick gift, it doesn't involve too much money and resources to get, and it's quite nice, it is the same price as store-bought bottles.

Last year I'd tasted various meads at my local Xmas fair but wasn't sure if I liked it enough at he time for the cost, so when I saw this was at a good price on Amazon I thought it'd be a nice treat try in cherry flavour. My plan was get it, give it a try, save the rest for my Xmas party to share with friends. Needless to say this bottle won't last til Xmas, it's too tasty.You can warm it up as a winter treat, or drink it at room temp, or cooled, for an any time of year treat. Perfect for those who don't like the sourness of wine or the sharpness of spirits. It's smooth, gently sweet not overwhelming like pop. And the alcohol is subtle, not hitting you in the face. But do drink with caution, because the alcohol is subtle you might not realise how much you've drank before tipsy hits. I look forward to trying different flavours, mint next I think. And ofcourse need to get another of the cherry for my Xmas party lol.
