Q: Does this expensive 3-light device compare favorably to 7-light devices priced $100 less?

I never use 7 light devices, so I cannot to compare. But I like 3-light device and like more LED chips.

Lying down is not necessary. The Halo is designed to be hands free and is great to use when doing chores around the house. For instance, you can use the mask while washing dishes or folding laundry.

Yes, this mask is wireless. It does not need to be plugged in while in use if it is fully charged.

Q: How much does it weigh? Is it uncomfortably heavy?

The face mask is 462g and the neck attachment is 138g. The mask is light weight and very comfortable with silicone frame and chin rest as well as silicone straps to eventually distribute the weight of the mask to provide optimal comfort during treatment.
