WATCH AT LEAST 4-5 YOUTUBE VIDEOS BEFORE PURCHASING. It is branded Hangkai, and there are a ton (Fish Facts TV is mine). The manual it comes with is basically worthless. A lot of the videos say it does not come with gear oil in the lower unit, but mine did. My biggest regret was knicking the gasket when trying to remove the lower unit cover. Because I did that I have been changing the gear oil pretty frequently. Overall it has run very well for me, beyond the first trip. I ran it in a bucket for a bit but didn't realize that the water pump does not work at idle. It kept overheating and shutting down at first. The starter also broke the first time I took it out, but the seller was good and sent me a new one free of charge. Since the first trip (fingers crossed) I have had no issues. It has not shut off since and the back up starter has worked just fine. I would give it a 3.5 if it allowed. Keep in mind it is 1/4 the price of a similarly powered yamaha etc.

This was a bit hard to start at times. Did not easily fit on the vessel. Motor propeller rises in water when moving forward to the point that it raises out of the water. Had to rig up something to keep it from getting out of the water. Not what I expected. Would not buy again.

I HAVE A LITTLE CONCERN ABOUT THE CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH. IT DOES RUN GREAT, AND EASY TO START.

this thing is a piece of junk, my first motor was a hell of a lot better then this thing .i want a refund
