Do not purchase this unless your expectations are lower than a sailor on shore leave. The light coursing through the holder seemed fine in the test but as soon as you start causing it to curve or bend, it drops drastically. I got it installed around my instrument cluster after much effort, including trimming the flap that holds it in place so it would successfully curve to the lines in my dash. But after about 18 inches, the light had diminished so much, it would only be barely visible, even at night. Since I've cut parts of it to fit, I'm obviously keeping it and I'm disappointed but the old adage of "you get what you pay for" is definitely in play here. If you are using it for short straight lines, then you're probably fine. If you want to actually light up your console and dash, not likely. I'll probably use it in the back hatch of my vehicle or for interior running boards since the doorways ways are less than two feet long each but I'll be looking for something actually fiber optic and not a plastic version. You have been warned.

I have been a waiting for the day when these two technologies would come together ever since I dabbled with both LEDs and fiber optics for an engineering project back in college. So, when I saw this product, I just immediately had to try it. After opening the packaging; within the first 2 minutes...the feeling of 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻. About 8 minutes after that...I was 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲. Despite what it claims, it's 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬. It's more like an clear acrylic or PVC spaghetti strand. Don't get me wrong, for the price, I wasn't expecting telecom-grade fiber optics, but, I was expecting more of an effort rather than just phoning it in (no pun intended). It really 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨-𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭. Just obvious mistakes in the design. Here, let me just show a few. Just match the photos with the list below: 1. These are the light sources 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭. (the over saturation in color is for visual aid). 2. What you see here is ONE strand that starts off at the source as a crisp white but by the time it reaches the other end... it becomes a warm white. This largely is due to the 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. Basically corrupting it. Additionally, you can 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 on the other end. About 1/3rd of it's luminance is lost. 3. This shows the amount of 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞. This also contributes to #2. Now, y͟o͟u͟ c͟a͟n͟ f͟i͟n͟d͟ w͟a͟y͟s͟ a͟r͟o͟u͟n͟d͟ t͟h͟e͟s͟e͟ i͟s͟s͟u͟e͟s͟, sure. Cut the strands shorter to try and maintain luminance or sacrifice another of the light sources and place it on the other end of a strand to boost the light and color of that end to help balance things. But... I'm kind of f͟e͟e͟l͟i͟n͟g͟ l͟i͟k͟e͟ I͟ s͟h͟o͟u͟l͟d͟n͟'t͟ h͟a͟v͟e͟ t͟o͟. But, no matter what.... 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬. Not even close. As far as the App is concerned...well, it's about as basic as it comes. I don't mind that simply because it keeps the file size of the app small. Other than that, it's just straightforward. No frills. Now, I want to be clear. LEDs and fiber optics are not new technologies...but, using them together in this way...kind of is. So, mistakes will be made. Final Feel: I can't bash on this product too much. Especially since I want this type of product to succeed. But sadly... i͟t͟'s͟ n͟o͟t͟ q͟u͟i͟t͟e͟ t͟h͟e͟r͟e͟ y͟e͟t͟. Consequently, l͟e͟a͟v͟i͟n͟g͟ ͟a͟n͟y͟ ͟f͟e͟e͟l͟i͟n͟g͟ ͟o͟f͟ ͟a͟n͟y͟t͟h͟i͟n͟g͟ ͟t͟r͟u͟l͟y͟ ͟p͟o͟s͟i͟t͟i͟v͟e͟ ͟l͟i͟t͟ ͟a͟s͟ ͟d͟i͟m͟l͟y͟ ͟a͟s͟ ͟t͟h͟e͟ ͟p͟r͟o͟d͟u͟c͟t͟ ͟i͟t͟s͟e͟l͟f͟. For the price, I wouldn't feel too badly as I can just re-purpose these for something else. Which I have. For me, these have become (with the help of a cig-lighter to AC outlet adapter) my new RGB Mini Spotlights for my display case of comic and anime figures. In this role, I am satisfied.

Its fiber optics not led, there is no control or app it just switches between 3 colors... absolute waste of a purchase

Product is wast to fit. However the light is not uniform. It is bright at the ends but not all the way through.
