Poorly working indicator.
Hello I bought these sensors in order to tell if coffee/tea in my mug was too hot to drink. I am using a 24 oz insulated glass mug. I place the sensor at the lip of the mug at above the handle. The sensor would not indicate;;;anything. I took another sensor placed it on a glass kettle filled with water. The sensor turned dark across its range when heat was applied and water boiled. It stayed dark even if the water was cold. I an not satisfied with how these sensors function. Also, I find them too expensive, If you need an indicator to show temperature don't buy these sensors. I rate these poorly working sensors a 1 star. Regards

Plus or Minus 5 degrees F
Basically +- 5 degrees F accuracy. I set up a test procedure for these temp tapes. I used my laboratory hot plate stirrer, with digital control. I set the plate temperature at the rated temperature of the tape for each square, and waited for the square to go black. Results: 130 = 118 F and 119 F 140 = 131 F and 136 F 150 = 143 F and 143 F 160 = 152 F and 152 F 170 = 168 F and 169 F 180 = 173 F and 176 F 190 = 181 F and 184 F 200 = 198 F and 198 F On a previous test I used a small hot air gun and the results were bad. These only seem to work on a steady state heated surface.

Single Use
You use it once and throw it away. I was surprised to find that it only worked one time. I couldn't find anywhere on the product listing that states single use. If you only need single use, it did mease the temperature accurately.
