I would suggest these to anyone that has a wood stove in their house, we have an approximate 40 foot brick chimney on the outside of our house I religiously sweep the chimney before the heating season but when We went on vacation for a week in the winter and when we came back and I relit the stove using paper and Kindling The chimney itself ignited with a bit of a smudge fire which could only be seen from outside when I threw the box into the stove it seemed to immediately extinguish the chimney fire and allow my blood pressure to go back to normal! I Immediately re-ordered two more of the extinguishers and gave myself peace of mind. Thank you Meeco for quite possibly saving my house!

You know----I haven't had the opportunity to use this yet---and hope that I never do. If this will douse a chimney fire as advertised it will be worth a hundred times what I paid for it---and that feeling of security alone is worth the price, From a practical standpoint---what else are you going to do to put out a chimney fire? What could be easier then throwing this package into the fireplace or wood burning stove?

I read the reviews before purchasing, but questioned this product before buying. One review commented on the home use plastic bag the product arrived in. Sure enough, I received the product in a banged up box and it was in a kitchen plastic bag. Feel I have been ripped off and have little confidence in the effectiveness of using this to put out a chimney fire. A lot of risk considering the consequences of it failing. I would caution anyone thinking about buying this product. I will be purchasing an additional different product as well.

My neighbor had a chimney fire and when the fire department showed up they put about 3000 gallons of water down his chimney into his living room Buy it before you need it I bought two of the extinguishers “two is one,,one is none” I would rather have extra than not enough order it today “”don’t wish you did”

This item was sent to me in a household Ziplock bag, it had clearly been opened before. I am not sure what is in this Ziplock bag or if it is the correct amount. The exterior red box was not sealed in any way and was crushed. I've asked for a refund. This is most certainly not worth $35.

The box says throw in without opening, inside was an actual ziplock bag that others describe. While burning a singular ziplock bag in your fireplace isn't killing anyone it would be far better if the product was in a paper pouch both from a professionalism POV and so you are burning paper/wax and not a plastic bag.

Easy to use. It did take about 5-7 minutes to extinguish the chimney fire, but worked as advertised. The fire did not restart and the flue and stove were in good shape after use with little clean up.

If you have a fire place or wood stove, and use it a lot, this is a product that is great to have handy. Chimney fires can be devastating - we had one years ago and it was a mess to stop without having a good safety product at the ready.

Tonight it saved my home. My little one and I were playing in the living room and all of a sudden smoke started filling the room from the stove pipe. Its scary to go through, but luckily my husband made sure we were protected when we installed the wood stove. I threw it in the fire and called the fire dept and sat outside till they showed up. The fire was out within about 5 mins. They confirmed it was out and we luckily didn't have any damage. Just ordered another pack, well worth the peace of mind.

Saw something similar being used on social media, stopping a chimney fire. Immediately ordered one - just knowing you have a means to stop an overheating fire from getting worse makes it worth the money. Hopefully will never use it, but think everyone with a woodburner should keep one handy.

Great to have by the fire, hope we never have to use it, but sense of comfort in having it near.
