MPF15020 Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter Compatible with GE MWF SmartWater

We just moved into our new home and it's got one of those fancy looking GE fridge that is flush with the cabinet but actually doesn't hold much. Well, my daughter started complaining a few weeks after we moved in that the water tastes funny and refused to drink it because it tasted bad. We looked at the filter and the previous owners had marked it with a sharpie to replace it 06/2017 and it was end of October 2017 at the time! The brand they had installed was HDX and I couldn't find it on Amazon - turns out it is a Home Depot brand. I opted for this brand, MORE Pure Filter MPF 15020 for GE MWF, because of the reviews. I figured if it was the wrong size or didn't work somehow the company seemed to be customer centered enough to make it right.We're very happy with it. We shut the main water off and installed the new filter in easily then turned the water back on. And after flushing it out as per instructions we tasted the water and it tastes great! For me, taste is what matters. I feel confident the tap water here is safe enough to drink but it's the awful taste that always had me buying bottled water.Anyway, great price - I appreciate the $18 or so price, very reasonable. We wrote down the "expiration date" with a sharpie on the filter and will be buying it again in six months if the price is still right!P.S. If I had to have one suggestion for the company it would be that instead of "Installed" date stickers it should be "Change filter" date stickers. It's when you need to change it that really matters!

I'm very thankful for the aftermarket that has sprung up to meet the needs of GE MWF SmartWater fridge owners. That done, the next concern is quality. The MORE Pure MPF15020 replacement filters satisfy on all fronts.You just unscrew the old filter, screw this one back into place, run a few pitchers of water through your filter (and down the sink). Press the reset button for three seconds, and you're great to go for six months.The MORE Pure filter gives you clean water, no odd flavor, color, or floating weird things after you pour off your initial couple gallons. I'm a repeat buyer of this make.

Just have to say how wonderful this product is! Beats the GE brand hands down and a much better price to boot.Inserts easily with a solid connection. No leaks.Water flow is excellent! The GE filter almost dribbles out where the More Flow does just like the name says, yup a good solid stream.I let the water run for about 2 minuets and it was clear, no black charcoal residue. Took a taste and the water was excellent with no chemical or off flavor at all. (Some of the GE filters I installed previous to owning this filter have to have water flow of a gallon or more before you can drink the water.)So... For half the price you get great tasting water and a filter that works better than GE's filter.BTW- Don't forget to press and hold your 'Reset Filter Reminder' when ever you change your filter.

Price is adequate when compared to wasting gas going from store to store to find this at a reasonable price.

This product works great as an alternative to the brand name filters. One thing I will say is to follow the directions on the box though. I've only been in my house long enough to need to replace the filter one other time. With the name brand filter, I didn't have to turn off the water supply so I figured it would be ok with this one. As soon as I tried to start the filter clearing process, water went everywhere from a blast of air in the line which didn't happen with the original brand. But after running for approximately 4 minutes worth of pint glasses to clear it, the water was clear and carbon free.

Bought this to replace one based on the refrigerator light indicating the installed one was no longer good. It was easy enough to get the old one out and install this new one. There is a process to go through just like most of these and that is to flush the water through before using.

It works great easy to install and great price especially compared to the rip off that Home Depot charges

Follow the instruction and there will be no problem..I used about 2 gallons of water out of the filter..Just to make sure there was no strange taste
