Bromelain for Digestion and Pain
I've used bromelain for years as an anti-bloating supplement. While it's more subtle than simethicone (Gas-X, etc), it works well, especially if taken on an empty stomach before you consume something that gives you gas. (For me, it's bell peppers on that pizza I'm baking. Bromelain is the difference between after-pizza pleasure or misery. If I forget to take it before hand, then I turn to simethicone after the meal since it works faster and harder.)So why do I bother with bromelain? Because this enzyme is good for lots more than gas. It aids digestion in general (it helps break down protein), and it's a pain reliever, able to reduce all sorts of swelling. Been to the dentist? Bromelain takes some of the bite out of mouth pain. Helps with sinus pain, too. It's a wonderful anti-inflammatory and will help ease joint and muscle pain, as well. It isn't miraculous, but it's a fabulous supplement and I try to take some every day. This bottle says to take three capsules (500 mg each) three times a day. The caps aren't huge -- it's doable -- but that's close to 5000 mg a day, which is at the high end of the recommended dose.)The usual recommended dose is 200-400 mg three times a day. I take one cap three times a day and it's the right amount for me. (If I'm going to have bell peppers on my pizza, I'll take two or three capsules at once an hour before I eat.) Bromelain in high doses can cause nausea or diarrhea in sensitive people, but overall, it's quite safe -- overdosing is difficult. (If you're allergic to pineapples, though, don't use it.). It's also good at thinning blood, so if that's a problem, ask your doctor about dosage.

Works well for me
This has really helped with my sinus pain. It has also helped with other aches and pains I usually have. I prefer the natural methods of supplements rather that the OTC or pharmacy drugs. This helps without feeling groggy. Has also helped with bloating that I get at times. I don't always take three at a time, or several times a day. Just on the days I really need them. So far they are helping.

helps with digestion and breathing
Bromelain has become one of those enzymes that I won’t be without. When taken with meals, it really helps with digestion. I have also been taking it before bed as it helps me to breathe freely through the night. This particular bromelain is a little stronger than what I’ve been using and I like that it has a higher gdu per cap. The capsules themselves are medium size and they contain a beige powder that has the distinctive pineapple-y scent. So far they seem to be working for me.

Helps With Digestion
I'd rather get my bromelain from fresh pineapple but when I can't I take bromelain right after eating. These Supersmart brand works just as well as my regular brand. These capsules are smaller so if you have a problem taking larger pills thise would be a.good option.

Misleading!
I’ve been taking Bromelain in one supplement or another, very regularly, for many years and would recommend it to everyone for it’s Anti-Inflammatory properties. With that being said, this seems to be a decent product but, it’s advertised as having 3,000 GDU FROM 1,500 mg and it does. The thing is, is that it takes 3 capsules per serving, which actually makes it 1,000 GDU for each of the 500 mg capsules. The next confusing thing is the label also shows 1,500 mg x 3 and 3,000 x 3. All being considered, I think the quality of the product itself seems to be good, though they don’t specify everything about their testing or manufacturing practices, but I know there stronger products out there that are much more reasonably priced and show everything about their quality.

Delayed Release Bromelain
Bromelain is a powerful enzyme derived from pineapple (technically a mix of enzymes). It will digest protein when taken with meals, but like other proteolytic enzymes, it has anti-inflammatory properties when taken on an empty stomach.Bromelain is measured in GDU (gelatin digesting units) and the more per gram, the better. This formula has 2000 GDU/gram, so is on the stronger side. And the fact that it is delayed-release means it will survive the acid of the stomach.Definitely take this on an empty stomach if you want the benefits. Otherwise, it will just digest the protein of the food you take it with.My only issue with this is that it is pretty expensive. The delayed-release technology adds some cost, but it is pricier than other bromelain options of similar strength.

Helps with PMS
I have Atrial Fibrillation and cannot take pain meds. This supplement really helps with PMS and other pain discomforts. I like that I can take it on an empty stomach without issues. It is pricey, but it contains 3 times the bromelain of other supplements. I highly recommend it for use as natural pain management.
