It came broken but I always see UPS purposely dropping my boxes on the ground. He doesn't know I have an alarm and see him every time. No fault on Amazon. I super glued it back together. I paid less that $8 for this on sale and that price is worth it. It's EXACTLY what I wanted. Not sure how it will hold up to the weather out by my frog pond but not sure it's even made for the outdoors but at that price it's worth trying. Gordy the toad hasn't tried it out yet to give his honest opinion.

I bought this for my corn snake Apollo, who is 6 years old and enormous/overweight. He had been recently given to us and we needed to upgrade him to a bigger tank with more things to hide under, so I got this log. He seems to enjoy it. He sleeps under it sometimes and basks on top of it, but the top branch/hole is FAR too small for him. I don't think that even if we can get him to slim down that he'd ever fit through it, so I glued some leaves in there to keep the temptation of getting himself stuck there away. Other than that, the log is very sturdy and heavy, he hasn't been able to move it around, and the texture is nice. It's smooth enough on the inside but rough on the outside, so it should be good for rubbing against when he's ready to shed. If we ever get a smaller reptile, I might buy this again.

This is a large, heavy hide. However it's really sturdy and feels of good quality. I use it for my bearded dragon when he is outside in his outdoor enclosure. He loves to bask on top of it, and I like that it also provides some refuge from the sun if he'd like some shade.

This is going to work, however, I had to modify it to work for my reptile set up. Let me start off by saying that this entire piece is very rough, with a few sharp areas and it is pretty heavy. I read all the revies before purchasing this item, so I pretty much got what I expected. Here is what I found: There is a hole in the top nub of the log, the sides of that hole are VERY jagged and sharp. I took black aquarium silicone and closed off the hole so that my snake would not attempt to crawl through it and get hurt/stuck. Then I took sandpaper and had to sand around the large hole you see in the display photo. There were so many jagged and sharp pieces, it could be dangerous for a reptile (or fish that could get caught on it). Overall I think this a good piece if you dont mind sanding away the sharp edges. The roughness will prove to be handy when my snake wants to rub against something while she is in shed. The dimensions listed in the description ( 11.1 x 4.8 x 5.5 inches) dont match up to what I got, mine measures 10" x 5" x 3 1/2" (5 being the widest part of the bottom on the larger side but it tapers off to about 3 inches in the middle to top) the hole on the side is about 3" and the smaller end of the log is about 3 3/4" at its widest and only 2 1/4" tall. Anyhow, I will be purchasing another one for my other snake enclosure. It is a nice decorative piece and once modified will work just fine. **Note** The BP I am using this for is small. Only 1 1/2 feet long and 979 grams.

These logs look almost real! They are ceramic so they are heavy enough to sink and stay in water if you want them in a fish tank. Large enough for mid sized land crabs to take cover and small enough to fit in a 10 to 20 gallon tank. I am very happy with my orders which were on a huge sale!!! Plus if they break they are easy to superglue back together. Id buy an entire case if I could.

Larger than expected, which is always good for ball pythons! The opening of the offshoot at the top is quite small comparatively, due to the thickness of the resin, so I had to plug it up, but my snake loves it.
