we run ours 6 hours a day and unit does get warm but not to the point of it being an issue.

For 150' at 1.5w/ft = 225 watts @ 12 volts (DC). I would break it into three 50' sections and use three 75-90 watt (DC) rated 12 volt power supplies. OR two 75' sections and use two 150 watt (DC) rated 12 volt power supplies. One power supply supply per section, and tie the power supplies together with a(n) 120v (AC) extension cord.
