AheadPractice Pad (AHSHPB)

This is a great pad for the price especially if you want a Xymox Percussion Pad without putting a dent in your wallet and not having to wait months on months for it to arrive. This pad is great for all your practice needs. It has a rim so that you can hit rim shots however it does not give the nice sound that a real snare drums gives but it does allow you to get the feel when playing sheet music. There is a "sticker" in the middle of the pad, this is the head and where the best sound quality can be found. The Gum Rubber on the back of the pad give the user an opportunity to play at a lower volume if needed and also gives the pad the sound of a concert snare drum. In the very center on the back side of the pad is a medal plate that, on a Xymox pad, can be used to tighten the beads inside to give it a more tighter snare sound however on this pad the nuts on the back are dummy nuts and do nothing. In order to give the pad the longest life span, it is heavily recommended to use nylon tipped sticks otherwise the wood tips will break the head of the pad much faster than normal. I recommend this pad to the serious drummers who want to really practice or to the beginners who have full intentions of furthering there skills.

The media could not be loaded.  At the time I was looking around at snare pads and I saw a xymox pad, I wanted to get it but it was expensive and many people said it’ll never arrive so I decided to look around on Amazon and found this pad and it actually arrivedAnyways use nylon tips on this laminate so it lasts longer and this pad is not good for drum set drummers

You know that phrase were someone looks better in person than pictures ? This drum pad is it !! Although there was a delay in shipping due to their station during the winter storm their communication is 100/10 they, I got my package yesterday and I can honestly say it’s a BETTER THAN EXPECT for how much you pay. Even sounds like a snare ! If you’re think about getting a drum pad and don’t want to spend $100+ this is totally the move ! It’s heavy duty doesn’t feel like it will break and just overall totally work every penny ! I would recommend plus it doesn’t take months to ship ! You won’t go wrong with this one !

Not too pricey for a good practice pad!

This thing is awesome! I have been using it daily for a few weeks, and I have found it really satisfying to play compared to the plain rubber ones! It really allows for good rolls and such. The sound is nice too. It definitely isn't as quiet as the rubber ones, but it's certainly more satisfying. You get much more of the snare effect near the center, so you can play with the dynamics a bit more by moving your hits around. The snare sound is also somewhat mutable if the back is covered. If it's on your lap, you can have your legs apart to get more of the effect, and together to get less. I recommend a stand and some thick and heavy sticks.

it has the best sound of a marching band snare

I think this product is pretty good for people who are focused on improving snare drumming. The sound is really good if you put it under a stand. Buzz rolls sound really crisp and this pad feel very accurate to a marching snare drum. Practicing for concert snare drumming is fine too. The pad warns you to play with nylon tips but I've been using regular snare sticks and the pad seems fine like it has no long term effects.

Appears to be sturdy and well built for my 12 yoa drumming prodigy \m/ . If he used it like he's supposed to (we keep nagging him), I'm sure the pad would talk back to us and say how wonderful it is to be practiced upon. Like that the pad has a nice rim to it too so kiddo can practice that rim-hitting thing which is so nice on the ears (wink).
