Tactical Day Pack Backpack for Everyday

Worth the money for an EDC bag
I bought this bag about a year ago. In that time I've used it as an EDC bag and a travel bag.I chose this bag for a few reasons. I wanted a tactical bag because they have the PALs webbing, giving you a lot of options for adding expansion pouches or hooking things to the outside of the bag. Also, tactical style bags are typically very durable. 24L seemed a good size for a daily carry with some extra space. It also has a bunch of spots for velcro patches. I've collected a bunch of patches over the years so I swap them out periodically. Then there is the price. It was cheap. I had seen it and saved it when it was $33 or $34. Then it popped up again at a reduced price so getting it for $30 with tax. I figured, if the bag sucks then I'm only losing $30.It has a lot of compartments for organization, which I liked. It has a 24L carry capacity making it a good sized bag for day to day use because it's not too big. It works great as an overnight bag because its big enough to pack a change of clothes, shoes and some hygiene stuff. You can even fit a second day's worth of clothing... Depending on the season. Colder weather requires thicker clothes.EDC: I take it with me to work daily. It has enough room to carry all my stuff. I always bring a 32 oz tumbler that I put in the drink pouch. I have an insulated lunch bag that I put in the bag. There's plenty of room for me to put my hoodie in the bag too. It's got more than enough room for an EDC bag. It can fit a 15" laptop but it's gonna be a tight fit. I wouldn't suggest putting a laptop in it on a regular basis. The bottom of the bag does not have any padding so you would have to be very concious about how and where you place your bag if you have a laptop in it.Travel: this bag has been pretty good as a travel bag. I used it as a personal bag when flying out of the country. I used it as a carry on and a day bag for excursion when I went on a cruise. I needed extra space so I was able to attach my old Army butt bag to the bottom of it, giving me more storage on one bag rather have to carry an extra, separate bag. During one trip we got stuck outside in a rain storm. It rained on us for at least an hour and the bag did well to repel most of the water. The contents inside the bag stayed dry. There was some dampness on the inside of the bag material after all that rain. Had we been out in the rain longer with that amount of precipitation my stuff would have gotten wetI mentioned a bunch of "Pros" about the bag but it does have a few minor drawbacks. Considering the fact that it's a 24L bag it can hold a good amount of stuff but the space inside feels a bit cramped. The bag, overall, feels bulky considering the size and carry capacity. If you want an EDC bag with a small profile this may be a bit on the bulky side for you. It didn't fit that easily under the seat in an airplane. Someone mentioned the shoulder straps being a bit uncomfortable and sliding off. They were right. It doesn't sit that well on your shoulders. It's ok if you only carry it from your vehicle and walking to the building you work in. If you're going for a hike you'll definitely want to use the chest clip to keep from having to constantly adjust. Some padding on the bottom of the bag would be nice. I don't carry electronics like a laptop or camera equipment anymore so it's not deal breaker for me but padding would help sometimes. The pull tabs on the zipper could be bigger. The zippers themselves seemed like they might fail. After a year of use it's been fine but I expect issues in the future. By then I will definitely have gotten my $30 worth out of the bag.The drawbacks are few and minimal. Especially for the price and durability of this bag. Totally worth the $30 something dollars

Exactly
I'm preparing to buy my third. The first two lasted me about two years with heavy, daily (and I mean every day) usage. I'm a commuter cyclist in Florida. I bang the hell outta these day bags, through heavy rain and beatdown sunshine. I've crammed up to 30 lbs in them, straining the seams and straps. No problem. Eventually, stitching on the first and zipper on the second gave out. But at thirty few bucks, better to replace. Mine lasted longer than they should have, really, considering the torture I put them through. All the features are solid. The back wicks moisture, even in 95 degrees.

I bought this bag in May of 2021. It is now May 2025 and the bag is holding up great. I use it often and it’s frequently being abused without issue. Would definitely recommend. I’m buying another now as a backup.

The media could not be loaded. The SAMURAI TACTICAL backpack stands out for its impeccable build quality and meticulous attention to detail, offering users a reliable option for their carrying needs. However, despite its strengths, the backpack falls short in key areas that may limit its versatility and appeal to certain users. One of the most commendable aspects of the SAMURAI TACTICAL backpack is its exceptional build quality. Crafted with precision and durability in mind, this backpack exudes a sense of reliability that is immediately noticeable upon inspection. From the robust stitching to the reinforced straps and handles, every aspect of the backpack speaks to its superior construction. Moreover, the attention to detail showcased in the design of the SAMURAI TACTICAL backpack is truly commendable. Thoughtful features such as multiple compartments, MOLLE webbing for customization, and sturdy zippers demonstrate a commitment to functionality and user convenience. However, despite its commendable qualities, the SAMURAI TACTICAL backpack has notable limitations that may deter certain users. Foremost among these is the absence of a dedicated laptop sleeve. In today's digital age, many individuals rely on their laptops for work or leisure, making a secure and padded compartment a must-have feature for modern backpacks.Additionally, the backpack's size may prove insufficient for users with varied carrying needs. While it may suffice for basic day-to-day use, some users may find it too small to accommodate gym essentials along with work-related items. A slight increase in size would greatly enhance its versatility and practicality for a wider range of users.Furthermore, the lack of a back belt to attach the backpack to carry-on luggage limits its suitability for travel. Incorporating this feature would make the backpack a more convenient option for frequent flyers and travelers seeking seamless mobility. In conclusion, the SAMURAI TACTICAL backpack impresses with its superior build quality and attention to detail. However, its lack of a laptop sleeve, limited size, and absence of a back belt for attachment to carry-on luggage detract from its overall functionality and appeal. While it excels in certain areas, addressing these shortcomings would elevate the backpack to new heights of versatility and practicality, making it a top choice for a wider range of users.
