This rod surpasses its price point
One of the best rods I've had in my hands, got the 7 foot medium light, great feel, yet strength needed for a good hook set. I'm using a spinning reel with 20 lb braid, it cast excellent. Plus you contact with any questions issues, respond quickly to resolve/answer questions. Great rod - for a great price
I bought this rod because I was looking for something light-weight and yet durable that I can use in the basin behind my neighborhood. We have long narrow channels that house red-fish, trout and snook - and I needed something that was lite (to ward off against reel-fatigue) as well as responsive so that I could sense the slightest hit on my jerk-bait or free-line shrimp.This rod was the perfect choice. It arrived very quickly (just a few days after I ordered it) and it was packaged very well. i always get nervous ordering stuff like this on the internet as you never know how it's going to arrive because of packaging and transit - but these folks packed it super well. It arrived in mint condition. I even appreciate the tote bag they included too!Overall - it seems to be durable - the eyes are quality - it's not a "chintsy" rod that's gonna fall apart in a year. I haven't noticed any rust on it yet and I simply fish, rinse and store away. i don't do any fancy cleaning on my rigs (don't have the time).Pros:- Inexpensive- Light- Durable- Quality materialCons:- Color is the only thing I don't like - it's got like these fake diamond things that line the handles and it looks kinda strange - so I'd love a camo version - but at this price - it's livable!Summary: I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

excellent rod & customer service
I've been using it it for a month now prior to leaving a review and have been fishing with it every chance i get and its good quality all-around fishing rod. The rod is very light weight and I've spent quite a few hours fishing per day with no fatigue. I even hiked through a local park fishing a lake for a few hours carrying this rod around and didn't have any issues. I would highly recommend this rod vs getting a cheap rod/combo set from your local sporting goods/walmart store. the difference is night and day.and sportmall has very good customer service if you need to contact them.

Baitcast rig? Spinning rig? Whatever you want.
Very interesting concept with portability and versatility in mind. Quality and craftsmanship is very good. Perfectly straight and construction is very good. Fit of the segments is excellent. Mainly a rod for the someone who wants versatility and portability in a small travel sized rig. It is not your average cheap rod. The rod has great graphite feel and action.Ability to mount baitcasting reel and spinning reel makes it quite versatile. While many experienced veteran anglers will shy away from a rod that is not specialized, the rod can be quite useful. There are times when using a baitcast rig is better and times when a spinning rig is better and you don't want to travel with a ton of stuff. So, this rod has it covered in small package. Perfect for keeping it in the car for the random fish days when you pass an interesting spot.The action is medium with a quite stiff lower backbone and the tip is quite active. Best for throwing lighter weight lures. I was able to throw some lighter weight plastics on the rod as well as some crankbait well.The rod does feel a little shorter with the baitcast reel on as opposed to the spinning rod because of the location of the reels on the rod. With the spinning reel on, the rod feels a longer because the handle is shorter and the length of rod is longer whereas with the baitcast reel on it feels a little shorter with a longer handle.Dimensions:Rod: Total length 7' long.Segments: 23" long.Baitcast reel: Handle is 14.5" long. Rod length is 68.5" long.Spinning reel: Handle is 10.5" long. Rod length is 72.5" long.

Stiff and strong.
This is a great fishing rod for the price. I've used it both for inshore fishing and some offshore (10-15 miles out). It casts well and has landed me quite a few fish.The only slight drawback I have had with this rod is the handle shape. Due to the handle shape, it can sometimes be a little more difficult to get the rod out of a short rod holder. If the rod holder is a long tube, there isn't any problem; but if the tube is shorter than the handle, sometimes the wider bottom part of the handle will catch. This is a minor inconvenience and only applies to specific rod holders. Otherwise, this fishing rod is superb.

I had previously purchased this from another seller but accidentally stepped on the rod tip so was happy to find thisCustomer service is responsive and they will address your problemsThe rod is on the flimsy side medium light tip is pretty useless it broke on a hook set... but the medium tip has been goodI’m able to cast further and smoothly with the rodBut if I can find other rods such as cabelas, Lee’s, or abu Garcia rods on sale which is around 30-40$, I’d much rather go with that

Excellent rod and customer support! 06/28/2017

Used mainly for bass fishing this has been my every day rod since I purchased it (fishing at least 3 days a week), very light still sturdy, awesome for long casting and we'll balanced back bone for a good hook set. For this price you can't ask the same performance of a St Croix, fenwick or similar but try it once and you would think twice before paying big bucks for a rod.Accidentally broke off the tip and contacted the seller knowing it could not be under warranty, they replied within 24 hours to get me a solution, new tips with no cost to me, just wanted my honest opinion about the rod and here it is.
