Eva NYC Frizz Fixer Smoothing Shampoo, 10 fl oz

i am a DIY hair cutter and froster, and the frost/painting kit I use is for dark blonde/brunette hair, and to paint streaks to go blonde and as is often the case, If not left on for a really long time brunette to blond will come out very brassy or reddish, instead of a cool blonde - AND the mixed blue lightening developer always makes it hard to tell how red it still is rather than up to blonde.. So I have been DIYing this for MANY years and have tried SO MANY brassy reducing shampoos, conditioners, toners, etc. none of which worked to any noticeable degree to make a difference. UNTIL THIS Eva NYC. I had been using the Eva NYC Satin Dream smoothing shampoo, but when I went to reorder I saw all of the other choices pictured and clicking through them saw this Brass to Sass Brunette shampoo, read through the reviews, andthought I would try it. SO GLAD I did, it really worked on my hair. My curls are perm curls, my hair is fine, and the DIY paint/frost I'm sure makes it more porous so possibly better to adopt the blue correcting color shampoo over red tones and it CERTAINLY works for me. The shampoo is so blue it turned my hands blue, but thankfully a good washing with soap and warm water brought them right back to normal. No blue tips to my fingernails either. I'm too impatient to take the time to put on gloves and I think I am tough/don't need them. Very happy with this shampoo and I'll keep using it because I have plenty of other products to add on after for smoothing. Subduing the reddish tone was paramount for a nice base to start with. And I don't mind a little red, in fact it can be quite lovely in brunette hair, but want some of the lighter frosted pieces to be a clear, clean, cool blonde and this goes a long way to get me there (and help camouflage any gray!). I like my hair to have dimension with many various hues of brunette, red and blonde. like the natural sun would create. The first photo with green jacket was a few days after first washing and fluff out so not as defined as when it is first done, like 2nd photo. First photo is blonder for summer; 2nd winter, darker and accepting of more subtle reddish tones. Might go back to Satin Dream for winter, we'll see. Like to have fun with it but I don't stray far from my usual.

Besides them coming spilled in the package, I really like this purple shampoo. I have curly, coarse hair that gets extremely brassy after a few days. I always get compliments asking if I just got my hair colored after using this as it always looks freshly blonde. I will say thought, it does dry my hair out somewhat so I always use a hair mask after.

It seems like they stopped making this product and are now using plastic bottles, that's a disappointment. I've tried a bunch of different blue shampoo because battling brassiness is my life's work. This one didn't leave my hair greasy, subdued the brass, and was a great value for the price. I'm going to miss it, I like it so much better than the Matrix's blue shampoo. I hope they bring it back. It's a little messy but the blue rinsed off my shower easily.

I couldn’t wait to start using this shampoo! I received my order and the bottle had leaked all inside the cheap baggie it arrived in, ok cool, I’m not gonna complain. The bottle was just over half full, ok cool, I’m not gonna complain. After a few uses, I noticed it weighed my hair down, ok cool, I’ll use less product and I’m not gonna complain.. About a month later I noticed A LOT of breakage in my hair, ok I’ll stop drying my hair as often and I’m not gonna complain. Fast forward to a couple weeks later.. I’m noticing that I’m losing twice as much hair in the shower, my hair is shedding all the time, and my hair is visibly much thinner. And as someone who already struggles with fine hair, this has been a total nightmare! I’ve made excuse after excuse all because I had gotten a sample of this shampoo and I loved the fragrance. However, the results are looking right back at me in the mirror..*Use with caution*This product can cause MAJOR damage to your hair and can cause hair loss.
