Works like a Charm
This product works, please make sure to download driver from realtek as mentioned in description otherwise it wont pickup full download speed, mine is as accurate as it can get on my thunderbolt port once I downloaded the driver

Good Buy
Great adapter, my only complaint with it would be that it doesn’t have status lights on it. Other than that, it easily gets 2.5 GBPs speeds.

Not for older Apple computers, especially not Intel processors.
Nice product, however, it doesn't work for older Apple computers, especially if you have one with an Intel processor. It only works with the newer Operating Systems that have the right drivers. Too bad Apple is so weird on not providing 3rd party drivers.

Very reliable.
Great product! Fast and reliable. The build quality looks excellent. Setup was quick and straightforward. I connected it to my 5Gbps network and iMac 24”. Blazing speed and rock-solid stability.

5G model constantly disconnecting
5G model. Constant disconnections on a minute to minute basis. Using a high end Lenovo gaming laptop with CAT 7 cable and barnd new windows 11 build. I have the 2.5G adapters from both UGreen and Anker and both work fine. Not sure this new 5G model is ready for prime time.

Needs a 10 Gbps+ USB port. Quirky in Linux.
The UGREEN USB-C 5 GbE adapter feels well built. The electronics are housed in a fairly large and sturdy metal case, which gets a little warm with use, but not hot enough to be concerned. Getting the adapter to reach its potential requires a relatively modern system with a 10 Gbps or better USB port, as well as recent drivers. The device is plug and play on Linux for me, but ethtool shows a 705 mbit link, which doesn't make sense. I was only able to get a half-duplex link on my Gen 1 port, with throughput near 3 Gbps. I think some driver updates could benefit stability and performance. The Realtek 2.5 Gbit USB ethernet adapters have more consistent performance and behavior for me, at this point on Linux. On a Windows 11 laptop with a USB-C port, I could achieve 4.7 Gbps throughput after installing the latest Realtek USB adapter drivers from the Realtek website. Performance was stable during a 10 minute run of iperf3. While the adapter will run with the stock drivers Windows provides (from 2016), the link is limited to 2.5 Gbps.Overall, this is a decent 5 GbE adapter, but I'd like to see improvements for the Linux drivers.
