Machimaho: I Messed Up and Made the Wrong Person Into a Magical Girl! Vol. 1

The best Magical Girl manga I've ever read
It may not be the most traditional, the most profound, or the most refined MG book, but on entertainment value nothing in this genre beats itThe idea of a screwed up MG is nothing new but making them the protagonist is a decent spin, and while Kayo is violent, short tempered, sarcastic, and just unpleasant she isnt a 1 dimentional monster. Kayo cares for her friends, gets top grades, and while she plans on doing it she never abuses her powers. For a parrallel, think Revy from Black Lagoon. This has great humor too, lots of the jokes it bullseyes and theyre varied. Dark, slapstick, wacky, embarassing, cute, it all works hereArt is also great, very expressive with detailed backgrounds. The action scenes suffer somewhat from overdesigned and cluttered energy/dust/vicera flying everywhere but it doesnt distract too badAnd while it isnt exactly a shonen it also has great action to itOverall, if youre a magical girl fan, or just a fan of good manga in general, give this a shot it'll be worth it

A Fun Take On The Magical Girl Genre
Machimaho is a fun manga that doesn't go far to switching up the genre, but it's best to stand out. Like Machimaho does with its superb art and fights. But they're a little too one-sided, Kayo the main protagonist, destroys every adversary that confronts her without struggling. I'll give the author a pass. It is the first volume he does need to establish how strong Kayo is and these magical girls are in this world.Speaking of Kayo. She's cute! Not the one-dimensional character I thought she would be. Kayo's intelligent, cares for her friends. She's no hero—she's an angry delinquent with a short temper that loves to fight whoever, whenever. Kayo would fit right in the Grappler Baki universe. An excellent start for this series. As a big fan of the magical girl genre, I can't wait to read more of this.

Uh oh
If the magical girl gets the job done, then was it really a wrong choice?? No more cutesy shizz from this mahou shoujo. Def worth the read.

Why isnt this an anime
It's insane to me the volume of total crap that gets animated in japan these days. Yet a gold nugget like this just sits by. What are the producers thinking?

One Punch Man x Magical Girl x Juvenile Delinquent Yankee Gal
A very lol-worthy product, but surprisingly great art and battle scenes combine to make this can't miss.I'm still early, so I'll update when I'm done, but I don't think I'll be disappointed. This is one of those books you run to your friends and family with to show them how ridiculous it is. xDOne of my favorite scenes is where the title comes from, the little cat fairy whisp thing that bestowed powers unto our heroine realizing he made a huge mistake as the panels slowly zoom in on his smashed in face.

Disappointed
Maybe it was because I had a preset idea about what a delinquent in manga is like but I was kinda disappointed and dissatisfied with how Idk how lonely? This character was? I think of a group of class skipping trouble makers when I think delinquent. Not only that but even before she gets her powers and before she transforms she’s already able to defeat the monsters. She’s just too OP for me. Plus her 25 year old henchmen (she’s a high school student) is creepy. He literally is lusting over this girl and not only that I think his character design was pretty cool looking before he TOOK OFF HIS WIG!! WTF is this ANNOYING BLOND PRETTY BOY??? Let me make this clear I have no problems with blond character AT ALL but this character seriously had a glow down. And the main character was so bland her whole personality is smoking and assaulting the weird alien fairy thing who until it was clarified I thought was a girl the entire time.

Puella Magi Delinquent
Most magical girl main characters wear pink, want to help their friends and have a burning desire to protect the weak, well this one still wears pink, but barely has any friends and has a burning desire to smoke and get into fights. I had a grin on my face pretty much the whole time reading it, it's brash, violent and crude, but is all the better for it given it is a send up of the magical girl genre (although still having most of the tropes). Art is generally good, if a little hectic at times, although that also leads to some very cool looking panels. None of the characters can be said to be deep, but they really don't need to be, and there's nice comedy from finding out about them (like the tough guy who's 25 and still can't finish school) I don't really have any real criticisms of it, some of the jokes do repeat a bit, and there's possibly a sense the artist is holding back at times, this is clearly not aimed at kids so he might as well just go full out on showing violence and nudity. Presuming you don't mind a main character who makes some anime villians seem like decent people, this is well worth it for an entertaining read.

Such a fresh take on a somewhat bloated genre
This is genuinely funny and has amazing art to boot. If that's not enough to convince you to buy this then maybe if I told you that all the things you wished would happen from shows such as precure, like if they suddenly decided to drop the whole "friendship is power" thing and just start decemating the enemy and blowing them to peices then this is for you.SmokingSwearingBlood and guts, all wrapped into a cute gyaru package. There's a lot to love and nothing to hate.
