Good thing this one comes with 2 batteries as they only last about 10 minutes before the low battery alarm on the remote starts to beep telling you to get back to land. I would recommend to anyone looking at one and reading this review. Adding a video to show it in action. Gas powered ones would be better but this is good for a kid. Even fun for an adult!

I got this boat for my sons and my husband (who is a big kid at heart). The boat looks very elegant. It comes with the stand so it looks nice when it's just on the display. It comes with the remote control (you need AA batteries) and many other accessories such as USB battery charging cable, a spare propeller and boat lubrication. Most importantly, it comes with 2 batteries so if one runs out of charge, instead of waiting for it to recharge , you can use another one. Right after we got the boat we took it to the lake and we were amazed at how easy it was to control it! The boat can go really fast and make sharp turns. Another great idea is that the remote control shows the charge level of the boat so if you are running out of charge, you can bring the boat closer to you and not have it stuck with no power in the middle of the lake. My kids (and especially my husband) had the best time on the lake with this boat and now they are asking for another one so they can race each other.

I didn't want to make too much investment in case it was a flop. After scouring reviews and such I decided to give this one a try as the features/price seemed good. From the Hobby Shop I was looking at similar models that were more than twice the price and didn't always come with the remote.The item arrived quickly and ready to go out of the box after charging. I have never had an RC boat so to be fair I don't have anything to compare it to. From the looks of it, the build quality is nice and I didn't see any QC issues. Apparently the H105 (which I bought) is a step up from the H102. The boat has decent speed and people who watch remark that it is fast.It is hard to tip and have only been able to tip it once and that was from me being cheeky and hitting a branch of a downed tree. The recovery rocking back and forth worked like a charm. My young son recorded the video above which is not the best quality but you can see how tight it turns.Below in the cons I discuss the battery limitations. I already want to buy a bigger faster boat and let my kids use this. So far it has performed well in ponds, small lakes, and the Grand River. The true test will be in Lake Michigan.Pros:Nice remote with lots of features, including battery life of the boat. It beeps at you when you need to get to shore.The range exceeded 200 ft and perhaps would go further. At that point it is difficult to see and track whether the boat is traveling towards or away from you. I imagine a bigger boat would remedy this. Bigger boats are much more expensive though.It maneuvers easily especially for a novice.Being critical, here are the cons so far:The translation of the manual is terrible - I mean really bad.Battery life is very short 8-10 minutes or less depending on how much you are hotdogging it. The spare battery helps. Most of us have to travel to a body of water (unlike an RC car) so you want to maximize the time. I recommend additional batteries. I have yet to find a larger capacity then the 7.4v 1250mah - this battery uses a unique connector unlike many other RCs . I have debated about wiring a pair of batteries in parallel to see if I can get twice the time out of them. Not sure if it would fit in the hall.The reverse does not seem to be very helpful except for turning.Overall, what a great way to get into some RC water fun. I think the features at this price point are untouchable.

Took it on vacation and used it on a lake while cruising in a pontoon. This boat is simple to use, very fast and you can drive it with ease. Everyone on the boat enjoyed it. We got about 10 - 15 minutes of run time on a fully charged battery. We had four batteries with us and it was an absolute blast on the water.

Instructions are lacking.Battery in boat does not last long. You do get 2 sets which is nice.Energizer battery in control device also does not last long. Once it starts beeping get your boat back or it will be stranded until you put in new batteries. Be careful, the latch to the battery compartment is closed with a tiny, tiny Phillips head screw.Note boat will not operate until it is in water.Works well on a private small pond that does not have any waves to deal with.Pretty zippy at full battery level.

I bought this boat for my grandson birthday in January he was so excited but there was ice on the lakes,so he had to wait! When the ice went out we went and tried it out,, boy it was fun and fast fast fast unbelievable. But when we took it out of water, we had a problem, water somehow got into the hull, and problem with charging one battery. At this time out of warranty ! I was so sad because he loved it so much, they sent me a replacement boat no questions asked! I would recommend buying from this company, they know the importance of customer service!!!!

This little boat moves! My kids and hubby enjoy using it in ponds. It does not work well if the water isn’t calm. Any choppiness renders the boat nearly useless. It handles well and if you accidentally flip it, you can maneuver it right side up with the remote. It’s really fun to play with. the remote control is intuitive. The battery is short lived though. We get about 30-40 minutes at the most on a full battery. Overall, worth it for us!

I use remote control boats in my job and this one has great range and holds up very well under sometime challenging conditions like hitting riprap or being retrieved by a dog. The batteries last 10 minutes or so, which is to be expected. The extra hatch really makes a difference in the longevity.
